  1. Hi all,

Didn't mean to double post but the time had elapsed to edit the 1st post!

In the Knowledge base, I did read about changing the options.exe to "Run as Admin" and also to change africa1943.exe to "Run as Admin"

I changed the options.exe but there is no africa1943.exe to change to make the Screen resolution changes "stick."

    Please help,

  2. Hi all,

    I tried Normal bootup

    I tried Selective bootup

    I tried Safe mode bootup

I even unplugged the DVD drive, uninstalling it first in Device Manager, and then replugged it.

    Same issues.

    Nothing works.

    Something unusual happened though:

Windows media player's console WILL eject a cd in the DVD drive!?!

HP is my computer brand, and they haven't released any drivers for Windows 7. That might be THE issue, I don't know.

I have also noticed that my DVD drive make a strange "zip" or "irk" noise first when trying to read TOW2 Centauro, but it never reads it at all in the end.

This also happens with other PC game software and ALL music cds.

I'm going to go to Best Buy and buy a new DVD drive and replace mine and then we'll see what's going on. Is it Win 7 ultimate doing it or my DVD drive dying?

I suspect that my DVD drive is probably on it's way out, dunno.

    Thanks folks,

    Any insights are still appreciated.

  3. Hi Moon,

I checked HP's website (I have an HP computer) for Win 7 drivers for my dvd drive, which can read cd's, and none were posted yet.

The game cd spins but I can't even open the dvd drive to copy the .exe and run it that way.

Do you think that this is a driver issue or a dvd drive issue?

My drive does read certain disks, not others and Win Media Player doesn't work at all when I put any music cd in the drive.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi all,

    I was wondering:

If TOW was based in Europe, per se, and TOW2 is based in Africa, Does it follow that TOW3 will be based in the Russia/Japanese fronts/areas?

ALSO, I do hope that we can "mix" the upgrades that TOW2 is offering with TOW. It would make TOW THAT much better.

  5. Hi all,

I just bought Theater of War and enjoy it.

I was wondering about this "Combat Mission" series title and the past titles as well.

From what I understand the past titles used to be IT for 3d WWII strategy games. I looked at them and found the graphics abysmal compared to games today. I don't know what other games they might be compared to today if any

Please, could you comment on the current status of this title and past installations of the game as well?

    Thank you,

  6. Hey all,

I bought the game over the weekend and installed it and love it.

The ONLY WWII RTS like the Total War series.

Such a different concept and tough to historically portray while being "doable" as a fun thing: Managing individuals instead of units, as in ancient and medieval warfare.

I can only anticipate and watch TOW2 develop.

I wonder if the next TOW (TOW3) will cover the Russian front or perhaps the Pacific.

  7. Hi all,

    I'm new to these forums.

I'm very fascinated by a WWII RTS that is similar to the Total War series.

I've been thinking about buying it for some time along with Les Grognards.

I have 2 questions, since I've only tried the demo:

Did this "Uber" patch fix a lot of problems thus bringing the game to "Awesome" status? If not, How would you rate the game and why?

I've seen the TOW2 trailer, nice btw, and was wondering if that game will add anything to TOW game play, AI or graphics wise?

    Thank anyone who responds!
