    Even compared with games of it's time CMBO wasn't a top rated game for graphics but it was such a good game that you just didn't notice.

    know what you mean peter back in the day i bought steel beasts the original one graphics were horrible for the time but gameplay was amazing

    there is a little game doing the rounds now called minecraft which is the same graphics could be better but the core gameplay rocks and you just get sucked in

    i am sure CMBFN is in a different league i feel the graphics this time are pretty awesome judging from the VAAR i have seen and we all know that battlefront games play well so i have HIGH hopes for cmbfn

    and i have been reduced to a quivering wreck waiting for the demo RELEASE IT PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE i feel like a little kid again

    My philosophy for the little it's worth is that CMBN will be like war, as a good simulation should be. That means that with luck, or more likely, years of hard work from BF you will quickly become immersed in the game.

    I have enough confidence in these guys track record to think that this game like those before us will suck us in like they did before.

    Sure there will be bugs and behaviours we don't like but to be honest if you get caught up about the difference between two MP40's v two M-3's your focusing on the wrong thing because our own poor decisions or misjudgements will have a lot more impact than any coding error.

    The game won't be perfect but it won't need the reworking CMSF did at first and certainly when I watched the AAR's I kept trying to control the cameras and issue orders.

    When they posted the examples of the new Sherman in CMBN compared to the original CMBO it was clear how far they had come and yet I didn't feel "Wow thats so much better than the old crap", because once you pressed go and watched the action start you were there.

    Iam going to give this game more than an even break because they deserve it and because as the Oldies thread shows this isn't just taking us back a decade for some of us its anything up to fifty.....

    bought shock force to be honest never really got into it dunno why been lurking mostly since cmbo beta came out

    it goes without saying i bought every combat mission game ever released

    but playing the cmbo beta is a highlight for me i remember it to this day

    cmbo took over my life i played it non stop cmbb and cmak where also awesome

    but because cmbo was such a revolution it will always have a special place in my heart

    i am hoping the same will be said for CMBFN

    i have high hopes and i am equally excited for this release

    i preordered cannot wait

    for anyone interestested this is i guess you gotta call it a copy of combat mission by matrix games called panzer command ostfront it is a update of a earlier game called panzer command kharkov if you have kharkov the new version is FREE it looks a lot better graphically than kharkov and winter storm the 2 games it is based on due for release early may looks interesting

    yeahhhhh come on guys all this waiting is driving me crazy.. all the AARs and pictures are awesome but a video would would tell the story off a million pix and ARRs please please please...release a little video

    or give us guys who have preordered access to the beta :)

    windows 7

    hi i have windows 7 with both cm marines and british forces installed i am running latest ati drivers for my 3850 card i have set all rights up for shock force everytime i try to play a mission it loads fine but my terrain is black everything else seems ok tanks and trees and even the 3d grass is ok it is just the ground texture

    please help me as i am starting to pull my hair out

    ps i tried to search for any posts regarding windows 7 but the search function does not seem to be working

    just a quick update

    i was also having game freeze issues when using dual core but since i downloaded the microsoft power fix i have had no crashes what so ever

    and like i mentioned i have cmsf on pretty high graphics setting and it looks awesome

    i can confirm this graphics driver seemsto have a good effect acoss the board frames wise i am getting better frames on

    i have not tried the rest yet but so far it looks really good
