  1. Lt Bull,

Try what Van has suggested, But try it during game. shift + ] and  shift + [  to raise and lower detail,  I have a fairly decent rig

and I find myself raising and lowering this setting during a battle, to balance the situation you speak of with fps,

I was just playing a "large" quick battle on the "foy" map  with a  40% point reduction

meaning axis has 3268 purc points allied or defender had 3620. @ set up you start in a wooded corner of map and I was only getting15 fps,

dialed the detail setting down which is really the ground texture draw distance if you will, and fps went up to 24. after set up and a turn or two

as I moved my units away from the map  edge I was able to dial the setting back up to balanced and get 30fps. I use vertical sync in adaptive (halve refresh rate)

so my fps locks @ 30.  my pc spec is intel I7quad oc to 3.6/16g ram/ 2x intel x86 80g ssd (1which has os win 7 pro 64)/ 1 samsung evo 250g ssd (game drive)

    1200w psu/ nvidia gtx 980/ 3x asus ips 27" mon. I run all games @ 3840 x 1024

  2. @Sublime

right click on desktop/ open "nvidia control panel" /manage 3d settings/ program settings/ texture filtering

@ this point you should probably add cmfb to the program list,  I run mine on "quality" with no issues but this is totally dependant on

    the hardware you have.

  3. +1 For a purchased force save!

    - option for a "30 sec" wego turn

-option for longer qb.....like 4hrs,,,I know its then called a long battle

    - the ability to reload tank ammo   ex- I ran out of 7.6mm ammo the other nite had crew bail @ a supply truck and acquire 1k

rounds got back in and .....nothing....It would be nice to have the abilty to p/u up a couple rounds of he whilst there.

  4. @sandman,

np- the preset that installs straight away is really, really close to worgs, so check it out.

the one I like atm  is here    https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/5476/

if u decide to check it out, when u go to that link you can look @ the pics at the bottom, thier interactive

meaning click on a pic and using ur mouse pointer u can drag a b-4 and after thingy across the pic and see what it does.

second pic on the bottom right of link is a pic of some police cars on a snowy city street, you can really see what sweetfx is doing there,  word of warning tho, if ya try this u may get some craziness in your game menu screens, no worries as it doesn't effect anything while u are in game. the biggest pia is force purchase screens that like to get fuzzy but if u click on any tab it goes away.

As for the movie lighting I leave it off for reasons stated in my last post.

  5. Don't mean to confuse anyone.

just offering up an alternative method for installing sweetfx an have it work straight away for people like erwin and myself .

I was having the same issues as him,  It sure confused me,  There's a couple of different shader things in worgs pac.

that he combines, one is used with movie effect in game gives me about a 10fps loss and the color tones don't suit "me".

worgs sweetfx preset smooths out the jaggies adds a slight bit of definition, but doesn't change the color pallet. I found a different

sweetfx preset that for me looks amazing with worgs textures and smooths the jaggies with no performance hit.

you don't need any reshader stuff for his texture pac to work, jus a matter of taste is all,

    cheer's!

  6. EZ way to do it-

    go here     https://sfx.thelazy.net/downloads/

dl the first file- unpack it. then just hit "reshade set up"

follow prompts, if it stops and ask  to manually select ,choose "open gl" and ur done.

@ that point you can drop in worgs "sweetfx_settings.txt" into the sweetfx folder that now lives in your cmfb root folder.

the website also has many other presets for dl you can preview them on the site and see what they do, pretty cool!

  7. @ JasonC

While I've always admired your knowledge on all things WWII, I'd be remiss to point out two things, firstly the intent of the scenario designer. " This scenario is a different type for me- largely fictional and based on the map first"

    Second, its a game.

That being said, I'm sure that alot of folks, including myself would enjoy a highly accurate scenario for cmx2 designed by yourself.

  8. SSDs provide substantial benefits over traditional hard drives

    SSDs are Faster

SSDs can have 100 times greater performance, almost instantaneous data access, quicker boot ups, faster file transfers, and an overall snappier computing experience than hard drives. HDDs can only access the data faster the closer it is from the read write heads, while all parts of the SSD can be accessed at once.

    SSDs are More Durable

Solid State Drives feature a non-mechanical design of NAND flash mounted on circuit boards, and are shock resistant up to 1500g/0.5ms. Hard Drives consist of various moving parts making them susceptible to shock and damage.

    SSDs Consume Less Power

SSDs use significantly less power at peak load than hard drives, less than 2W vs. 6W for an HDD. Their energy efficiency can deliver longer battery life in notebooks, less power strain on system.

    SSDs are Cooler

As an energy-efficient storage upgrade for your desktop or laptop, SSDs require very little power to operate that translates into significantly less heat output by your system.

    SSDs are Quieter

With no moving parts, SSDs run at near silent operation and never disturb your computing experience during gaming or movies, unlike loud, whirring hard disc drives.

    SSDs require no defragmenting

If you want to believe that loading times with a ssd is minimal check this out

  9. Why bother you ask?

I use a matrox THTG, which enables the use of three screens. Hence surround vision, which cmsf supports oddly enuff. But to make it work u have to get at least a res of 3072x768. If cmbb could run in windowed mode it would work, but thats out as well.

I've been playing sb pro and arma with it on 3x23" mon, now I'm spoiled! once u game like this its real hard to go back 2 one monitor.

  10. Its not really turn based, but it does work. use the "pause game". You can check up on all your units and issue/change orders. Its the first thing I do at the start of the battle. I then can issue the "stop hold" order and organize my troops. I know this has been posted before ,but this stupid simple detail changed tow in to a playable game for myself.
