I also hope larger maps are included and easier to do at that point. Would also really love to see helos actually flying around the battlefield.

I know it's a long way until CMSF 2 is even on the drawing board, but now having finally purchased CMBN and seen water, rain, European terrain/buildings I just wanted to express my excitement and hope that CMSF 2 will eventually come to fruition. Don't forget about those of us who prefer the modern/recent era. Oh and good job with CMBN!

* More realistic effects - I don't mean any fancy graphics, but to have the dust/debris react in a more realistic manner after explosions and that sort of thing would be awesome. I have yet to see a game that does the mushroom cloud thingies after an explosion like what happens from a JDAM strike.
Someone made a great smoke mod, sorry don't remember the name. It's in the depository.

So many possibilities with the NATO release.
So sort of war fought in the former Soviet Union, say Ukraine, Belorus, Russia, and throw in NATO. Are there any good Russian mods out?

I asked if the Canadians will have their own voice files in the stock release and the answer was no they use the American voices but the file names are different so it can be easily modded. One question was WHICH Canadian accent to use.

I think it's a must that when playing with modern armored fighting vehicles you need larger maps. That's the one thing that in my opinion is holding the CMSF series back. I know the infantry centric scenarios are great on the smaller maps, but perhaps you could at least give us an option for even larger maps.
I think up to about 8km x 8km would fit nicely with the scale. I just want to conduct a modern high speed armored thrust, and well, it's kind of tough do that right now.

Someone mentioned roads earlier, and that has been the thing that I've personally found frustrating when creating maps. A simpler solution to adding roads would in my mind be a welcomed addition.

I own everything LnL has published so far in the WaW series. Great game, simple but accurate rules, maps and counters are gorgeous. A lot of fun, and scenerios can be played in a couple of hours.

I think a Ukraine setting is perfect. I was racking my head trying to think of a non-desert setting. You can include the Brits when their model is released.
May I suggest checking into Bayonet Games upcoming release called Next Wars. It deals with a Russian invasion into the Ukraine with US and NATO coming to aid of Ukranians.

Great hearing about the Brits. Would it be soley Challenger 2's or would the Challenger 1 make it as well. Dare I ask about Cieftains???
Germans with their Leopards would be great, espcially with Leo 1s?
Am I giving away that I enjoy 1980's based games. Already made a map of a location in the Meinigen Gap near Bad Kissigen.

I know these aren't even completed yet, but is there any hope of us ever getting European forces before the focus shifts back to WWII?

Is it me or would a company never be tasked to take a complex the size of the airfield in the campaign's second mission?
For the record I really enjoy the game, and have faith it will be thoroughly patched.

Just purchased the game, and downloaded it. When I tried to run the file (CMSF_Setup.exe) I get the following messege : The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.
Please help. I can't go back and download it either.

I guess a current day confilct similar to what Gibson is describing would be fun, but how would that really any different, equipment wise, than what we had? Also if you are going to do something in that kind of open terrain you've got to give us bigger maps!
Personally I think a mid 80's game offers up a ton of playability, and also a level playing field. The M1 (not M1A1), and M60's with a 105mm cannon, against T-80B's will make you sweat. Not too mention mostly M113's....
