Actually, I think that is close to what alot of us want. I almost never order individual soldiers, and would much prefer an interface that emphasized orders to organized squads or fireteams (much like Close Combat or CM). I want to play as Private Pyle's company commander, not his frontal brain lobe.Originally posted by Webwing:I agree and understand what you are saying but again is kind of a delicate balance. If the AI gets too clever then all you have to do is select all troops and tell them to advance and they will know when to stop, take cover, etc. Not much left for the player to do then.

Well, can we get them back? They were (originally) a selling point with me personally.

Real Time all the may; never WEGO.
Personally, I believe Real Time is more realistic (aside from being more fun).

Actually, what I would like to see most is another OPFOR "module." Granted, any other Middle Eastern military is going to play about the same, but how about a Russian OPFOR deployed to the Middle East for a "Bear Resurgent" type scenario? The Soviet's had a long history of indirect involvedment, and a Russian expeditionary force in the Middle East could make plausible story lines . . . plus it would allow a more "balanced" Blue v Red engagment.

I would definately like to see the IDF as well.

First off, I am going to have to say I sympathize with B00M$LANG on this one. It was not obvious that Sergie was joking, and alot of people jumped all over him when he was just being a "good neighbor."
But from a bigger perspective, WOW. I think you guys have just set the record for Longest Topic With No Actual Information or Value.
And what is even sadder, I actually posted in it . . .

Speaking of Operations, CM1X- or CC-style operations would be a nice addition ot CM2X. I for one am not a big fan of "story-driven" campaigns.

Definately.

Oh come on. That would make it too easy! Everyone would get through the scenrio in 7 or 8 tries, tops.
