Sorry for short derail...Originally posted by Hukka:Windows XP SP2

Graphics settings doesn't seem to affect a lot. Now I'm having 'improved' settings, but I tried with the worst settings and still had poor framerates.
Ive dicked around with oc'ing but never really got into it too much. Im wondering how much improvement you got out of that appx 1ghz on a game like hl2(or any common software) over default settings... since this game is not a good comparison..

Can I ask what setting charles is using? Whats his display size and configuration of nvidia cp etc...
Operating system (make sure to specify the SPECIFIC flavor of XP or Vista)
Windows XP Pro SP2
Processor (brand, speed, and # of processors)
Intel E6600, 2.4 ghz , C2D
RAM
4 Gigs DDR2
nVida card model
8800 GTX 768

Ive tried many different configurations for nvidias control panel with similar or worse results. From everything on to everything off.
Im currently running the game at 1920x1200. Ive played it at other resolution with minute increases or decreases.

I doubt it. Though this game is another story...

****rs are holding out.

It is with the Strykers, too. They'll come in, conduct a raid and leave. Then I come in on my normal patrol and have to deal with the LN pointing at the wall "Why Mister?!?" *sigh* </font>Originally posted by robplumm:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Bradley Dick:

Although, I'd be willing to bet 99.9999 per cent of those Germans was far more afraid of you than you were of them. And as to touching, I guarantee your touching them bothered them far, far more, than it did you.
Cleanliness is pretty important in German society, and US soldiers are not what most Germans would call clean. And if you look at the state of US military dependent housing, US civilian vehicles, US support facilities, and indeed US soldier behavior while in Germany, most fair people would have to admit the Germans basically are right.
I once saw a Wehrmacht veteran, Russian Front medals and scars and so on, visit a US Army infantry unit where it seemed like pretty much every soldier dipped tobacco or chewed gum. The poor guy was just about sick, and he definately was not impressed.
(Insert here standard diatribe on the need for soldiers sent to a foreign country to understand the foreign culture, unless it's a total war.)

Reminds me of being stationed in Ansbach Germany before the first Gulf War with 1AD. The Berlin Wall had come down and we were having a volks march that started at Barton Barracks. I happened to be on gate gaurd that day. Well every German that came through the gate had to touch me. I started to think of the SSG that the week before had a dog turned loose on him and all he could do was run into the gaurd shack to get away from the
dog.
So here I am with Germans and who knows who else all around me and all I have is a M16 with an empty magazine. Needless to say I kept my eye out for dogs.

I don't own CMSF so I can't comment on what is modeled in game. I can tell you that the Stryker has a VERY good thermal imager - most of its capabilities are classified - making it realistic for a Stryker commander to see that target before enemy engaged. Also, a .50 round has no problem penetrating the concrete blocks used in construction of most mid east buildings. As such, I think the firefight in your videa was realistic. </font>

Damn. CMSF neutered that thing.. heh.Originally posted by Steven482:1. Battlefront Version 1.01 (Download Version)

4. 2GB RAM
5. Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit
6. No Error Messages, but horrible FPS rate. Graphics are way to slow for my HighEnd System.
I have no problems running other games like Call of Duty 2, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter or Silent Hunter 4 all at Max Resolution.
BTW What psu do use to power it?

I totally agree, but their are other reasons that beta testers would lose interest quickly.Originally posted by Battlefront.com:Major_Jerkov,
To be fair to WiC, and any game, beta testers are almost always bored with the game FAR sooner than regular customers. If you were ever a tester (especially an inhouse) tester, you'd understand why It's a high burnout job. We're fortunate that we have a huge pool of quality testers to choose from, but it still doesn't change the fact that we burn ours out too.
That being said, I don't know squat about WiC so I'm only commenting generally.

Just had to add that even the beta testers for WiC are already bored of it, its longevity is already decided. Much like GC2.Originally posted by Exel:but so is the new World in Conflict.

Can my guys acquire a target just by the target talking, even though hidden from LOS?

1. CMSF BF 1.01

3. GF 8800 GTX 768 VRAM Driver Ver. 162.18

%. XP PRo
6. No error messages, just is extremely laggy(ie running at low FPS), Shadows look distorted and blink randomly @ higher settings. Just all jagged out @ lower settings even with aa/af. Getting 10-20 fps looking across some real estate. Looking at a close in firefight expotentially impproves framerate. 30+. Tried all mentioned fixes and nothing seems to help. EOL.

Ive yet to try RT. Ive simply been studying replays, and trying to figure out how things work. This game has so much potential.Originally posted by JohnCalvin:At real time, things happen so quickly that it seems like a click-fest. Thats why I said I dont know, cause I dont, but how would he know he was their behind the walls if he didnt initiate contact? Which doesnt look like he did, the stryker fired first.

I think no matter where its at, their needs to be a huge list compiled.
