I don't recall the type of rounds or barrage being color coded. Do you have any interface mods?

    I meant blue/US, red/USSR.

Preferably though, driving AFVs through an anti personnel bombardment (not that I'm too sure how you'd determine that it is indeed that) should be avoided.

I am considering advancing through my own (Russian) barrage.

  2. If this topic has probably been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find an answer to my question.

I'm playing CW. I have a bunch of immobilized AFVs while some others closer to the frontline have had some of their crews killed.

I had crews bail out from immobilized vehicles and board the incomplete ones, but they boarded them as passengers, not crews.
I also tried incomplete crews evacuate their AFVs to be replaced by fresh crews, that failed too.

How should re completion be done ?

  3. I'll look into razer in the next few days.

My new Inspiron 16 xplus is still nice and clean and very much updated. I used to play on an upgraded Alienware M17R3. It was the best but I killed it. With a bottle of sparkling wine. I don't want to talk about it. I loved you. I still do. Please forgive me.

My new Inspiron feels the same but looks younger and sexier. She can't take 140mb ema files yet, but she's working on it and I'm patient.

  4. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it.

The crash has most probably nothing to do with the video as in the previous turns, the game itself ran smoothly if the critical phase was passed.

I monitored my laptop during this critical phase : CPU is around 4%, GPU 0%, VRAM 20%, and RAM (16GB) peaks to 70% just before the game gives up.

I was about to purchase extra RAM, but it won't solve the problem if I understand you correctly ?

  5. I am playing CMBN Operation LINNET II (a) on a brand new Dell laptop.
Game is set to run on the 2nd adapter (Nvidia Geforce).
    No mods installed.

An "out of memory" message pops up while the .ema file is loading.
File size is currently in the 140MB, still going up.

Up until the previous file, I was able to play on a freshly rebooted laptop, it doesn't seem to work anymore.

    I would appreciate any suggestion.

  6. You are red recon.
You've been carried along in your transports for some time but now that's it: you know the enemy is out there in the opposite corner, and he knows where you are and where you want to go.
He can hide and see through smoke. You can't. Can you?

What can you do to help the main force seize those 3 terrain objectives in 30 minutes?

  7. Why would the FACE order get unavailable sometimes?

I can't get those scouts to focus on the area I want them to scan.
I understand why a truck wouldn't be able to rotate, but I've seen tracks, or foot leaders with the FACE order button greyed quite often.

  8. For some reason, I have been placed in command of a Russian Motor Rifle battalion. Bad karma most likely.

    It includes a mortar battery.
There is one ammo truck for each mortar platoon, packed with many nice mortar rounds.

When the truck with its original driver parks near the mortars, they add its load to their ammo count.
When the driver is ordered to disembark to be sent on some errand, the truck lists as "dismounted" and the ammo available to the mortar platoon drops as if the driver had put a lock on its freight and placed a "biohazard" sticker on the tailgate.

I ordered the platoon leader to embark, but the ammo count remained on the low side.

I ordered a driver back into the truck (not sure it was the original driver but should it matter anyway?). The truck remained "dismounted", the ammo is still out of reach of my mortar squads, while the little guy shows as a "driver".

Am I facing the first stages of a drivers uprising? Can they claim tenure on their trucks?

    Thank you for your insight.

  9. Gentlemen, I could use some clarification regarding the chain of command.

Below is a screenshot of a situation I would describe like this:
A spearhead section lost its leader.
I brought in the company commander to re-establish some control over the unit.
When I select a squad from the section, its connection to company level remains severed, while it looks like the link to battalion level has been reestablished.

Obviously, there is something from the C&C I don't get.

I have never been in the military, so please forgive my ignorance.
I find it very frustrating that red sections depend on a single individual. Not that I don't acknowledge that it was (is still?) by design, but that makes them very susceptible to being cut from the main force and subject to psychological wear.

How to keep front companies under C&C despite the loss of section leaders?

Or am I making a mistake with keeping leaderless sections on the front line? Should I order them to retreat (under fire) in order to avoid panic?

  10. I play on a laptop connected to an additional screen.

When I move my mouse to my secondary screen, the in-game camera also moves toward the end of the map.

When I click in the secondary screen, the game is iconized and runs in the background, replaced on the main screen by the desktop or whatever other software is running.

Is there a way to have the game displayed on the main screen, while using other software on the additional screen?
