Dr Jones can you email me with the info on how you viewed these files? You mentioned that you cant rewrite to the files but you can view them?

I am very interested in making some good mods for the community but I need the community and devs help to do that and so do the other modders of the game.

devs please give us the tools and we will make some great mods. It can only be a good thing for the game and community. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful and informative. That explains it then. For some reason I was thinking you could take captured units to the next missions. And for some reason I was thinking Your reinforcements in the middle of missions would carry on to the next missions as long as they weren't destroyed.

I dont quite understand how the reinforcements, captured units and newly available units in the unit setup screen works exactly?

I am now on the 4th campaign mission of the German campaign and taking heavy losses. In the unit setup screen before the missions there is alot of new units on the left side of the screen but I dont have any points to aquire these new units. So how exactly does this work? Am I supposed to earn points throughout the campaign? Or are you supposed to try to get through the campaign with only your starting forces from the first mission?

Also, how exactly does captured units work? I have captured a few units but then they are not available for the next mission? There not in the unit setup screen? Is there any point in capturing units? How do I use them in the next mission?

Ok I sent a couple savegames to your email. I should also mention that I grabbed the savegame files that I sent you and tried them on my other computer and exact same problem. CTD on loading.

So the same problem is occuring on both my computers. Playing the game on the other computer CTD's alot as well.

My other computer specs: (if it helps any)

Winxp SP2

EVGA 7600 GT

Asus A8N-VM mobo

2x 256 PC2100 PNY memory and 1 512 Corsair Valueselect

Maxtor 80 GIG Hard Drive.

AMD A64 3800+

[Moding smoke and fire]

Just curious, which files did you edit to mod the smoke if you dont mind me asking. I am also interested in modding the game.

I dont know about making a mod. Mainly I just want to start with playing around with the armor values, reload time etc.

I cant really play the game right now because it crashes to much so all I can really to is start with some mods for now until a patch comes out.

I was hoping someone here knew how to mod these kinds of things in the game?

I was thinking of playing around with the editor and files a bit and maybe start a realism mod. Nothing too big really I just want to start out editing the armor values, speed of the tanks etc.

What I want to start with is editing the tank values to get them as close to real historical values as possible. Or are they already pretty accurate?

Who knows, maybe it could turn into a big mod later but ya got to start somewhere.

I did figure out how to mod a few things but I haven't quite figured this part out yet.

My question is, does anyone know how to mod the armor values and speed, turret turning speed, etc. of the tanks?

[Tips about Dunkirk]

One way to beat this mission, although it will take a few hours is to use the (38t)? Or the tanks with the 50mm front armor. The at guns wont penetrate the frontal armor on those tanks. You should be able to buy 5 of them in the unit setup before the mission.

Then advance with them really slowly and keep their front armor pointed at the at guns that are in sight. Quicksave often and take out 1 at a time.

I almost succeded with this method but the game keeps crashing then I cant load my saves cause that crashes too. I believe this will work if the game wouldn't crash every 5 minutes.

Please dont forget to include a fix for not being able to load a save game in the patch.

Cant load save games because it crashes to desktop in the middle of loading a savegame.

Thanks for the reply and help. I gave it a try and im still getting CTD and cant load any of my saves. When I try to load a save it crashes to desktop in the middle of loading the save.

I started saving alot to try to get around this but even that dont work. Every one of my save game s is corrupt.

What's the ETA on a patch?

Changed all of it. Im still getting Crash To Desktop when trying to load a saved game.

I made another thread about it. The devs need to know about this problem and release a patch. Alot of us cant even play a game.

I tried to temporarily get around this problem by saving in a lot of different slots every 5 or 10 minutes but now none of those will load so I cant get back into my campaign.

It seems like some of the saves go corrupt or something.

Ya it is. I thought I was doing pretty good and then pulled my units forward a bit and revealed about 10 AT guns and a few more tanks. I just dont see how I could have nearly enough ammo for this mission.

That's true those are the tanks im using but im on the dunkirk mission right now so I kind of need those tanks. The other tanks wouldn't do too good on that mission I dont think.

Doesn't really matter. Alot of shots miss so you will run out no matter what.

Can I buy an ammo truck or something to bring along? It wasn't available in the first and second mission of the campaign. Does it bacome available later or? How to I rearm my tanks?

If thre is no way how can I mod the game so the tanks have more ammo?

Your supposed to earn money or points or whatever for completing a mission right? So on the next mission you can buy a few more tanks, buy better tanks etc.

What factors go into how much money you earn for the missions? Is it by keeping casualties low? Time it took to complete the mission? Or do you just earn the same amount of points no matter what?

The game Crash to Desktop alot so I save alot then when it does Crash To Desktop I go back in the game to load my last save and in the middle of loading it crashes to desktop. So I cant load my savegames.

Id say atleast half of my saves wont load. I get no error or anything just immediate CTD.

All latest drivers and this computer plays all my other games fine.

Please release a patch.
