Same error
I did everything recommended, DX9, reinstalled 169.21 changed all 3 of the settings listed. I was previously running Nvidia 169.04 and only updated to 169.21 after the error.I also never had any problem running it on 169.04 until 1.07 was applied.
Any more ideas I will be standing by.

Further update I have installed the 1.07 patch on my laptop without a problem. I would much rather play it in surround sound on my 24 inch monitor though.

I have checked the troubleshooting guide as well as the forum and I have not seen this problem mentioned.
When I click the CM:SF Icon I get
The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000005)click on OK to terminate the application.
I tried a complete reinstall and got the same error with the unpatched version 1.0. I then applied the patch and still the same error.
I have never had a problem running the game before.
I updated the Nvidia drivers to 169.21 as well as renaming the intro video, still the same error
Athlon 64 Dual Core 4600+
Win XP Pro SP2
2Gb Ram
2x Nvidia 7600 GT 256mb in SLI

I experienced the same thing in the first campaign mission. Not only the strikers the M1A1SA that was with 2x Strykers. All 3 vehicles had their LOS blocked when one of the strykers popped smoke. They were all unable to area target a building 20m away.
Target line showed color change to blocked LOS as soon as it hit the smoke

My Inf will not place demo charges using the blast command on a free standing wall. I haven't tried on a building but from the responses here I assume there is no difference.

Has anyone been able to get the "Blast" command to work? I am unable to breach walls or buildings with engineers. I have RTM. Am I missing something? I can flatten them with Arty and Tank, MGS rounds. As an example I keep attempting it in the Al Huf engagement, 1 Bradley and 3 Inf squads. The command dissapears and the squad just lies there. Different walls, different buldings and different squads, I haven't gotten it to work yet.

I had the same problem fellas, instead of turning off SLI installing the new forceware 162 Nvidia drivers also solved the problem.

A fine job BFC, I only stopped playing for some food. When those first Javelins went off, I had to wipe the drool off my keyboard. A well deserved congtats to all involved.

Its not an already selected unit, its running video in SLI mode. Turning off SLI solved the problem for me but cut my pretty visuals down. That appears to be the fix for this problem

Same here, its not a RTFM case. I already did.
I cannot select anything without holding shift and drawing a box. Left click does NOT work.

The forces in my residence grow weary of me kicking them off the computer every hour on the hour to refresh my email(been going since Sept 12).
" What are you waiting for?" they ask.

I'm having a hard time keeping up the rouse, the house of cards is beginning to fall.
I need to get these Devil-dogs onto my laptop so I can then go hide at a location of my choosing.
The future of my domestic situation hangs in the balance as well as the possibility that I may again have to do my own laundry.
I beg of you show mercy!
