  1. So it's finally "working" eh? smile.gif

But the "arena" style deathmatch won't get you anywhere . . . You need to give the players a mission for multiplayer, rather than "kill'em all kthx" standart deathmatching. I hope there are attack/defend scenarios and historical maps for multiplayer.

  2. Dunno, It worked for me in demo. Make sure you spam nades in quantity enough. Throwing one grenade and praying to blow the track off is likely as winning a lottery smile.gif

Don't forget that those nades are shaped charges, so they have to(have to with capitals) be placed ON the target to make some damage. They're harmful as a kitten when not on something smile.gif As for Ferdinand picking off your infantry with the gun, don't forget that it has an MG34 bow MG. Maybe MG is getting the kills while you're watching cannon fire .

ok, what factors affect the soldiers morale?

is it possible to use suppression as a tactic? because the soldiers morale doesn't seem to be affected by suppresion fire.(they dont hide, or get scared it seems)

    Factors effecting on morale:

    1. Danger level of unit.

    2. Friendly visible panicking units.

    3. Damage caused to unit.

    4. Visible friendly units. Quantity, battle value, battle power takes effect.

    5. Being inside of other unit (tank, DOT, car and etc).

    6. Unit’s own “Leadership” characteristics

    7. Presence of visible unit with high “Leadership” (“Leadership” is higher that unit’s own). Only one with higher parameter takes in account if there is more that one unit visible.

    8. Presence of visible commander (inside the tank for crew), his “leadership” parameter takes in account. Only one with higher parameter takes in account if there is more that one commander visible.

    9. Hit or flinch. Only first hit\flinch\death takes in account if there were more than one hit\flinch\death in small time amount. Hit takes more effect than flinch. Death one of crew members takes effect only on crew members.

    10. Death of friendly unit.

    11. Death of enemy unit.

Danger level counts from 0 to 100, where 0 is absence of danger and 100 is deadly danger.

    Factors effecting on danger level:

    1. New enemy became visible.

    2. Enemy approached closer to unit.

    3. There occurred an explosion near unit or bullet hit ground near unit.

    4. Unit was hit. </font>

SirReal - like benpark said, you are comparing two entirely different things. With a fixed camera of an FPS, MANY things change from a programming point of view.

Moreover, (just curious) can you engage targets at that distance, too? Most FPS games I have seen have big maps but fudge it and only let you engage (either by horizon fog or by cleverly placing obstacles to break LOS) at MUCH shorter distances.

And of course RTS games are a different thing entirely.

RO has a maximum of 4 kilometers tank fighting visibility. Especially with 50 player maps like Orel(It takes more than 5 minutes tank drive to the battle-zones). And the tank sights can be adjusted for over 5 kilometers smile.gif I'd really suggest you to try it if you like tactical games.

For me, TOW and RO makes a good couple.(Sorry for OT smile.gif )

To like this game but I think I'm losing...

LOS, I don't know what's going on here I'm getting shot up when I think I'm safe. Once again you're breaking players trust. If you don't want to use LOS tool (I think you should, if some players don't want then have as an option) it should be obvious when something is hidden. Hell, have a rating that troop give themselves. I place in a bush and his 'cover' rating is green, I put in open and its red, in grass yellow etc. At least some idea....

I want to give you my money smile.gif

For the LOS issue, think more CM style, even though the graphics and camera here look like a first person shooter game.

In CM the visable trees and stuff were there to make things look nice and show where the cover was.. but they never were actually used to determine LOS or LOF. It was just a table with, you pass through so much cover, your LOS degrades by so much calculations.

I think ToW works the same way EVEN though it looks and has camera angles of a first person shooter (FPS). Unlike a FPS where if you can't see through a bush, you can't see through a bush, bushes and trees in ToW just seem to indicate some cover without actually being there and just degrade LOS instead (same mechanics as CM). Makes sense at it's way cheaping on the CPU usage to do that type of calculating instead of bascially ray tracing all LOS from all units to enemy ones past trees and bushes etc.

So hiding behind a huge bush does not give you total cover as it would in a FPS, it's cover like you would get in CM even though graphically it looks like you're fully hidden.

IMHO a bit of bad design (if they had a choice) as it defeats the purpose of the individiual unit, unit eyelevel camera angle and all the distinct cover (as opposed to CM tiles).

And you're whining about the whiner who is whining about the whiners now? smile.gif

Actually apparent b*tching about this game and the whiners are the only reason I visit this forum so much. Get my pop corn and start viewing new threads, they're usually like "OMGWTFBBQHAX I WANT MY MONEY BACK*tears*", "X mission, did anyone beat it?", "This game is utter crap", "Loving, enjoying it", "I WAS DECIEVED*tears*" and the following flames.

Can't we just stop it and actually talk about this game rather than your feelings? Yes, I'm whining about the whiner who is whining about the whiners. How long will this go?

Oh, the game? I like it as it is. It can only get better. If I didn't, I would be elsewhere rather than wasting my time here. Even BF people stopped posting here.
