[Converting battle map into operation map?]

I have prepared my first scenaio with a nice map and during playtesting I realised that it should in fact be a short operation rather than a long scenario.

My question:

Is there any way to turn the scenarion map into an operation map?

The question is in the subject line: how to convert a battle map into an operation map? The reason why I am asking this is that being a novice, I have done a large historical map and just realised that it would be nice to have as an operation rather than a single battle. Having spent many hours on the map, i would rather like to use it if possible at all.

Any help would mean that you can soon have a nice short operation about Hungary during the Konrad I in January 1945. Rather than a simple but long battle...

does this mean that there is no way to alter the weapons' values in the game? Or to edit units besides their appearance?

I am more or less a novice in the game...

Just a question: I have seen that the Russian units have their automatic rifles. I havem however not seen in the game the use of Gewehr 43 or 41 riles. Anyone has a thought on how to mod this type of weapon and then how to add it to any unit?
