Why? Maybe because:
1] he felt like it (the Peng answer, but less profane]
2] he's such a lurker, he just realised someone replied to one of his posts [old timer's response]
3] the computer he uses is reeeeeealy unreliable [not likely, but what the heck]
4] to see if someone like Sergei would get fished into keeping it going EVEN LONGER
5] all of the above.

Hey, your website looks waaaaay more interesting than mine! I stuck my business site there 'cause I've not gotten around to a 'just for fun' site. Yet.Originally posted by Abbott:Nice looking website Jim. It is attractive, easy to read and simple to navigate.

To all you guys/gals at Battlefront:
A sincere thank you for your considerable efforts at producing and supporting a fine game!
I say this first and foremost, as it seems to me that so much negativity is floating around out there.
This is a 'new' game system, and is not the 'old' CMBO/BB/AK. I think it is a FUN system! Being one of many who hasn't bothered to read the rules, I poked my way into the Training Campaign - and it is the best 'tutorial' I've seen yet. Though rather dry, and causes me flashbacks [i served 17 yrs Army and still work for them as a DAC], it really 'gets you in' to the game, right now. And after 4 'battles', you get sent out to fight! The rest, like a private fresh out of Basic/AIT, is all up to experience [okay, so I *will* be reading SOME of the manual ].
I have been involved with gaming since the mid-70's, when there were NO PC's, much less PC games. Just cardboard maps [hard mounted, if you spent the 'big bucks'], chits, counters, and ... dice. Hard as hell to find opponents. Some people out there may not appreciate your work, but I do.
Again, many thanks, please keep up the good work, and God bless you all!
[insert clever tagline here]

So, maybe, just maybe WE KNOW WHAT THE HELL WE ARE DOING!
Thank you and good night!
Oh and if you don't like what I had to say you can help yourself to a warm glass of shut the hell up!

Things to change:
1. Add 'Campaign' option to allow progression of units throughout a 5+ series of scenarios, ala Steel Panthers/Panzer General.
2. Replays: I would love to see a replay option for the WHOLE BATTLE. That, and allow replay saves of TCP/IP games [right, Mark? ]
3. Command Relationships; similar to what Buq-Buq mentioned, higher to lower, but with a chain-of-command commensurate with the overall troop quality [i.e., Veteran troops automatically replace killed commanders quicker than Regulars].
4. AI common sense [i.e., no "dancing KV's" on the battlefield]. No AFV crew worth it's salt, like a Regular KV crew, would do a slow 360 pirouette in the face of GE SP guns.
5. Better modelling. Yeah, I'll have to buy a new graphics card, and it's already pretty good, but could DEFINITELY be improved.
Things to keep:
1. Fog of War - the more 'extreme', the better.
2. I like relatively 'human' reactions of troops under fire, e.g. 'panic', 'shock', etc.
3. Environmental effects.
4. Game style: Turn-based, tactical combat.
5. Replays. I love watching my T-34 shrugging off pathetic 37mm rounds by the dozen...
