  1. Well, with that War on Terror game and some car wrecking ame, it is obvious what you're getting into when you purchase it. It's a mainstream title and unfortunately they have gone down hill in the last 5 years where gameplay becomes retread and publishers don't feel like trying something new. I am sure the developers had some awesome ideas for fresh ideas that were axed by the producer/publisher types. This is the state of main stream games today. That is why everyone is here afterall aren't they? Battlefront goes against the grain and doesn't make games to appeal to those that want graphics over gameplay. They can find a nice in between. Fortunately, the indie game market is now booming, you just have to search for it. This will eventually make its way back to the mainstream market and the quality and gameplay of games will go back up again.

  2. Yea, its to bad there aren't more movies with some good tank battles. All the ones covered here are the ones that already came to mind because at least they had/tried to have real ww2 and not some cheap knock off tanks, unlike ermm... Battle of the Bulge (who would've thought the battle took place in the desert) and even Patton (thought its still good) and countless others

One note about a decent Battle of the Bulge movie, I watched Saints and Soldiers recently, its more of an infantry movie, as they all are but was decent nevertheless, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373283/

  3. Unfortunately to be able to accurately model the tank, fewer tanks are made. It all depends on preference but you have a choice, do you want dozens of tanks with arcade style controls or a few accurately modeled tanks which make the game a sim?

Also, these tanks for the most part all have different roles, which adds more gameplay, the T-34 and T-72 tactics are incredibly different.

I would say to go play a Battlefield 1942 mod if you want to have bunches of tanks and come back here in a couple hours smile.gif

  4. Many of the screenshots do have a more polished look than some of the others, that is because the game is still in early alpha/beta mode.

Looking forward to seeing the screenshots as the game nears completion smile.gif Never the less though, the game has many interesting points, the physics being key that make me look forward to this game moreso than the graphic appeal.

  5. I was in England and my girlfriend saw me looking out the window of the train and she knew what I was thinking, German tanks crossing the fields, she knows I am obsessed smile.gif

I've never actually played against a human opponent in Combat Mission before though, I myself seem to be a lot better at defense than offense too.

  6. I am not sure if you have read elsewhere that BMPs aren't in the game, but if you're taking this from the T-72 website then read, "partial list" smile.gif Even if they aren't in the game, other infantry fighting vehicles are in the game and will make good substitute targets.

  7. Added, the game was somewhat known before the english version and has forums on some other sim sites.

I'm sure as people play the demo, they will find the game is excellent smile.gif Really looking forward to the multiplayer in this one.

  8. I am looking for a mission, I thought it was packaged with CMAK but I am not seeming to find it. The basic premise of the mission was germans defending a small city in front of a bridge in Italy. You only had infantry and 1 StuG III. Around turn 12 I believe, a Tiger I does show up.

I can't seem to find this mission! Anyone know the name?

  9. Hey guys,

Just wanted to make my first post here, I've ordered the Combat Mission Anthology and should be here sometime this week, I had followed the game since its conception years ago, always interested in it but I never bought the full version, only played the demos but after playing a game called Hearts of Iron, a macro ww2 strategy game, I wanted to delve back into micromanagement and it not be some Command & Conquer hack, if you know what I mean.

I see a lot of small graphic and other fixes to the game, is there a site that hosts all the fixes or anything, also, are there any large mod updates where a team has redone a lot of the graphics, I've seen most are just modifications to a couple vehicles and not to many of them, so some will look good after you update and some won't.

Anyway, I hope to maybe help out with the mod community when I get time, I'm a 3d modeller/texture artist.

So, thanks and hope to delve into the game smile.gif
