  1. I agree with Blashy,

If I had my way, nothing except the concept and the beginning of the game would have anything to do with what really happened during WW2.

Meaning that when you start a scenario everything is historicaly correct(except if you have edited it with the editor) but from that moment on I can declare war, make peace, move troops, sack commanders, promote commanders,retreat,attack,... in short everything I want to do(excuse me if I sound a bit dicatorish).

BUT(another but) I would also have to take the responsibilities for my actions.

e.g.: if I let the Fins be slaughtered after they joined me, a lot of countries would be less inclined to join the axis like they have.

the same for the allies, if I were to order the full evacuation of , say Yugoslavia, right after they joined me(I don't know how I would do that since they have no port, but anyway..),

A lot of minors would think that the English are only interested in them for the troops they can provide and not in their economy or people.

As for countries that are declared war on by the axis, it would simply make no sense for the allies to emmediately evacuate because then it would be a total victory for the germans without even a loss of material.

  2. If my memory serves me right(can you say that in english?)these volunteers were mostly individuals and were absorbed by the English army.I think that in SC1 all volunteers and evacuated troops from countries are represented by the 'free french', which would be about correct in numbers but not in timing since you get these 'free' troops in 1939 while most of them only arrived later on.

As for the German volunteers, they're another matter.

A lot of collaborators were organised into corpses by the Germans.

An example from my own country(Belgium) is that a corps of collaborators called 'het Vlaamse legioen' was recruited by the SS and sent to fight at the eastern front.(hell, who wasn't sent to fight at the eastern front in those days?)

I found a site about it but unfortunately it is entirely in dutch. :(

    The Flemish Legion.

  3. I agree with your point about the French troops but that's when you're talking about a major country.

I don't see why Finnish troops couldn't be fighting in N-africa.

On one side I would't like the fact that I'm not able to move my troops whereever I want to move them but on the other side I'm for more independance for minor countries as long as they put all of their potential in the allied cause.

Not only is it realistic, but it did happen. Troops from every conquered country had troops in the UK.

If a player wants to move all the troops from a country that was just declared war on, so be it, the game is about changing history and the Axis get it faster with no losses, so there is a cost.

I don't think it is realistic to say that a country would have fully evacuated all troops immediately after the DOW just because the UK told them to.

Would you give up your home and your country without a fight just because your allies wanted you to?

But I do think that every country should be able to evacuate after a while.

  5. I think that you should be able to put whoever you want in command of your army.

e.g.: If I wanted to make Guderian a field marshall I should be able to.

Or, if I wanted to transfer Rommel to the kriegsmarine I should have the ability to transform my Rommel HQ into a naval HQ.

I think that either way it is a bad idea to make HQ's dissapear because it is historicaly correct.

Besides, if the germans were still winning the war, Rommel would have never tried to assasinate Hitler.
