  1. In the past I've only played games like TS Campaign Series, Squad Battles, and Combat Mission. Never thought I'd be interested in a game like SC WaW. Was bored last night and after reading some good reviews I thought I'd check out the demo. Too my surprise I enjoyed it enough that I bought the download version this afternoon and am starting to learn my way around. Seems, at first glance, an "easy" game to learn GUI wise but one that will be difficult to master(a very good thing) with tons of replay.

Reading these forums and seeing the developer contributing, like the guys in the CM forums, really went along way in helping me make my decision. I love it when a developer cares enough to listen to what his customers have to say and interacts in the community.

Anyway wanted to stop in and say hello. While I don't do a lot of posting in forums you can be I'll be lurking:)

  2. Thanks for the response guys. Yeah, it's a nice rock mod that made spotting them easier. Been looking all over for it and finally found where I got it a couple of years ago, after posting here.

Screen shot in this thread starting with post 3 from a user called Poor Old Spike.

They had a link in a thread there that is dead.

After finding the site this afternoon I also posted a request there.

Maybe between the two sites I can find someone that has it on their HD that would be willing to share smile.gif

  3. Ok I installed a radeon 9550 card this week (what an improvement over my onboard chipset!) and have this problem. If CMBB minimizes it comes back with a black screen. Sounds and everything are still there but the picture never comes back. I did try a couple of solutions suggested that I found in a search (alt B to bring up the scn report in 2d and then continue to the 3d screen and resetting the refresh rate on the monitor) but no luck. There was also a suggestion to roll back to a previous version of the catalyst program that runs the card but this is something I don't want to do. Also all drivers are up to date as I took them off the website and not the install cd.

Of course the easy solution is to not minimize the game and the problem is solved. To tell the truth

I never minimize the game while playing but what happened was my Norton auto updated and the computer went to desktop to let me know and I couldn't get back the game picture and so lost a turn of movement orders.

I am wondering though if anyone knows how often the autosave feature works and if it might save me from losing a turn in progress. In other words if I know it kicks in every 10 or 20 minutes could I just leave the game set for the 10 or 20 minutes and them come back and kill it with cntrl/alt/delete and have the turn autosaved?

    system:

    xp sp2

    512 ram

    60g HD 40g open

    radeon 9550 128mb 128bit

Sorry for the long post but wanted to get in all the details. Appreciate any feedback anyone can give.

  4. I have one called Tom_Rocks that is pretty good. I looked at cmmods and don't see it listed and to tell you the truth I can't recall where I got it.

I sent it to you in a zip file to the hotmail address you have listed here. Check your hotmail account for and email from s_weed59 and that will be it. The subject line is "rock mod for cmbb".

If you don't get it or delete the mail before reading this let me know and I'll send it again.

Of course backup the original before trying this one.

    Hope it helps.

  5. So if you double click on it in the task bar it doesn't come back up on the screen?

If not I'd just make backups of your save game folder and pbem folders and uninstall and then reinstall the game. Then cut and copy your backup folders into the game where they were before. I'm not a computer expert but this seems the easiest way to me.

  6. I'm new to the game, just got BB this week. The game is awsome. CMMODS is one of the first things I found and MikeyD is correct it is overwhelming, you wonder where to start.

One thing I would advise getting while there is the mod-manager. Very simple to use and pretty much does everything for you.
