  1. so just to go off topic a bit more...JoMc67 didn't say that... that was Erwin... and, to do a bad misquote is more than enough reason for you to stop posting "weapon2010" even if it might have been a "mistake" or worse on purpose...

I applaud Drifter Man  for his dedication, I hiss and boo Erwin for his usual thread crapping. I take umbrage on Jon and DMS's inability to have better facts with there debate.

And while the sup/machine bullets can fly flat at over 100m... holding one steady to burst out to 100m+ is the real issue. Have any of you ever held an mp5 up to your face and shoot out to 200m... lol on any steady aim, don't even think about burst. Ya the game has an issue with this.  recoil

That might be so. But a kaby lake at 4,5 will still be a lot faster than a sandy bridge at 5,0 since it has much higher ipc.

no thats not correct for this game. True some better/newer IPC, but for this game not one bit of difference even back to Conroe CPUs.....  If you had all the CPUs from 2006 till now at 4ghz, there would be no diff for this game except the RAM speed. Which is new IPC-ish. (And does make a diff). You think CM engine is using new microcode/ instructions SSE4?, AVX?

A Kaby or Ryzen CPU with their DDR4 will be the fastest , but not by a "lot" over DDR3 CPUs in this game

I don't think that American film has been particularly successful in terms of critiquing American policy, even though it isn't expressly forbidden from doing so. It's important to remember that there were no anti-war films made until several years after the Fall of Saigon,...

Wrong on both parts. Do more research, and you will find that since the beginning of "film/movies" there has been quite a few anti war, anti america du-juor. Self awareness is only achieved with knowledge

Anyways I don't want to get into an argument whether or not the US can wreck Russian AD, but I think it's silly to assume that US fighter jets are going to be flying at standoff range unopposed by anything, while trying to target Russian stuff if there is an AD capability that can threat them.

    because 70 mile standoff

That's what we we get for preordering, might as well wait a moment longer and just download the full game when it is practically in the store

What do you mean "WE". Dont count me in your angry world. And the "point" is , for me, to give them my money as soon as i can to reward them for even taking this old game on and delivering it, with a discount!.

I think the your point is on your head....

It would be better to have a setup like Matrixgames. Where you can download the exe, run the install register your game and then the game is ALWAYS open for reinstall even if matrixgames goes out of business. They allow you to make a backup copy of the game after downloading and registration that you can burn on a cd/dvd (patches included). This is the best method.

I personally won't buy or recommend to any other person games with this type of registration. So, if that means Combat Mission Campaigns and Shock Force and future modules of it also are going to require this "lame" online registration everytime I install the game or need to reinstall it then they won't be getting anymore of my money and I'll be sure an relay this information to all my friends and relatives and aquaintances as well.

    hurry pifft

I also read about people with X1950 Pro cards and 430W PSUs not even close to meeting those requirements who have no problems whatsoever.

    Any thoughts?

What you read is wrong. It can be right if you take the whole Systems needs. But a 1950"pro" does not need 30amps.
  8. ok just to set the record straight. AA works on the r300..9600/9700/9800 cards.. it is just awsome!2xAA is real good .. 6xAA is great too but ya cant tell unless you zoom right on somthing. so realy 4xAA is the sweet spot. the problem is you loose the text in the menue and the the ingame INFO pop ups(?)

from what i can tell as of this post,it is the gamma correction of the MSAA It just borks the the text boxes. So the the white text is unreadable in a white box...duh! and the menue too . I can see the blue and yellow text tho! As you can tell im a newbie player but im real old school boarder.. ASL was my life for a while...avalonhill games are piled up in the closet... but for the last 10 years its been comps and FPS games.. now im bac to the thinking games. These AA results are from the original CMBO patched up. it seems like a easy fix if enough ppl sent in complaints to: http://apps.ati.com/driverfeedback/

so untill some fix is in im running at 1600/1200 or 1792/1344, no AA ,full AF, its real sharp and it is way fast and playable. (9700pro)

  9. well yes im in the market for a card... i have issues with Nvidia.. personal.. but i am going to build a box for CM and some other strat type games.

i already have two high powerd ATI boxs.. but i want the fog and the AA.. the Z_buffer issue has to do with the AA and how it is used(?) by CM.

I might try the XGI boards when the come out...

Which means that AA is OFF. Very few games or programs actually control the FSAA or Anisotropic Filtering beyond what is set by the driver control panels (or defaulted within the driver itself).

I'm not sure why there are mixed results here with Antialiasing. It's possible that some problems may be associated with specific models of cards or different families of chipsets/cards. The chipset families are usually designated RV100, RV200, RV250, RV300, RV350 and RV360 (and there may be some others). Anyway the unified driver (Catalyst) may do some slightly different things with each chipset depending on its capabilities and/or design. This is somewhat rare, but ATI has had problems in the past with the Catalyst drivers that have been unique to certain cards or chipset families. </font>
