  1. I don’t know if it was mentioned before but anyway…. Is it possible “to give” carbines or rifles to mortar and artillery crews in CMAK? I suppose it would be historically correct (I am not sure about Germans but Russians had carbines) and more realistic. I had few instances ( or my opponents did ) that I lost ATG being assaulted by tank hunter team or infantry team or….. tank crew  . I assume it wont be a problem to make “use main weapon” order for mortars and art. guns .

  2. Just wantad to respond TANK ACE's post but Nippy was the first. Nippy thanks for saving my time.

I would like to add this:

"On 26 May 1942 General der Schnellen Truppen beim Oberccomando des Heeres distributed the following "Instructions to units on the Eastern front for Combating the Russian T-34 with our Panzers"

    Characteristics of th T-34:

The T-34 is faster, more maneuverable, has better cross country mobility then our Pz-3 and 4. Its armor is stronger. The penetration ability of its 7.62 cannon is superior to our 5 cm KwK and the 7.5 cm KwK40(unfortunately we dont see it in CMBB). The favorable form of sloping all of the armor plates aids in causing the shells to skid off.

Combating the T-34 with the 5 cm KwK tank gun is possible only at short ranges from the flank or rear(!!!!), where is important to achieve a hit as perpendicular to the surface as possible. Hits on the turret ring , even with high explosive shells or muchine gun bullets, usually result in jamming the turret. In addition, AP shells fired at close range that hit the gun mantle result in penetrations and breaking open the weld seams...."

Thats what Germans thought about T-34. I am sure they had no the same opinion about Sherman.

In addition T-34 is very simple in construction, cheap in production and simple in repair(Soviets mostly repaired damaged T-34's close to front line in contrast to Germans).

In regards to design as Nippy said it has Low profile, wide track base, sloped armor -all modern tanks qualites, that cant be said about Sherman which in addition had easily burned(even in CMBB)engine , dissatisfied mobility, short range km and high profile.

    TANK ACE,

If you compare T-34 to Sherman you should do this according to years i.e.

    T-34(76)M1941 - Sherman M1941( :D poor tankette)

    T-34(85)M1944 - Sherman M1944

,you will see that figures dont speak well for Sherman.

  3. First of all Spanish partizans did most of the job in Spain not Wellington. Therefore Napoleon's veteran troops and Marshals couldnt win the war in Spain.

Second Spanish front was only secondary front in Napoleons wars, otherwise Napoleon would spend all his time in Spain, not in Germany Russia and Austria. Size of the Wellington's army in Spain was not comparable to armies in Europe. It was too small. Comparing to battles in Europe(Leipzig,Borodino,Eilau,Vargram)Wellington's "battles" in Spain were only skimishes.

As for Waterloo I think it is a stolen victory. It was stolen from Blucher, because BLUCHER had saved Wellington from total defeat when he came to Waterloo with his 30.000 Corp.

During "100 days" Napoleon was only deadly wounded lion and he was wounded by Russians, Germans and Austrians in 1812,1813,1814 of course not by Wellington.

Finnally Russia, Germany, Austria would win Napoleonic wars with out Britain not vice versa.

  5. 1).Try to get closer (100m)

2).Concentrate fire at least 2 tanks on one "infantry?"

3). At the time of firing advance your infantry.

Just tested it and it was successfully even against regular infantry

    2 Marders(only AP)from 100m against regular squad with 1 morale HQ:

1 killed, pinned after 60 seconds

    2 Marders(only AP)from 100m against green squad with 1 morale HQ:

1 killed, panic after 60 seconds

So a tank could try to sit in a safe place for a few turns and maybe get back into action ??

Same for throwing a track, loosing a wheel etc..

According to Israeli Field Manual tank crew has 20 min to repair a throwing track, but I have never seen such occurrence during my 3 years sirvice. It usually took us 25-60 min (Merkava2), and I am sure it is absolutely impossible to do it under fire. If we had troubles with turret or gun we just were waiting for our company maintenance crew on M-113 and it was taking at least a few hours to these guys to fix it.

I dont know if WW2 armored companies had maintenance crews but even if they did its still almost impossible to return tank to combat in 20-40 min wich is the average duration of CMBB battle.

Actually I dont need to do any research because Russian is my first language, but it was funny look trough this list of curses.

I am sorry for those CMBB players who dont understand russian wav files from CMBB. Sometimes it helps me to understand my opponent's units condition. For example when they are panic or out of ammo. As for German wav files I saw the translation somewhere on Grossdeutschland site.

CMBB players its time to learn some russian and german!!!! :D

Battles may have been won and lost after that but it's nearly impossible to imagine the Germans marching on to Victory after the horrors of that first winter.

If you went to desert and didnt take water, whom should you blame for? desert? If Germans were freezing to death in Russia, should they blame the accident on Russia?

Correct me If I am wrong but I think OKW and Hitler have the responsibility to this. Befor invade Russia they had to think about winter supplies. As you said they "placed themselves in an impossible position".

In this case it would be better for German generals continue to fight against counties such as Poland, Denmark, Greece and etc. , but not agaist Soviet Union.

My opinion is that German's "The High Water Mark" was at 22 June 1941, after that no one could save Hitler from suicide.

Thats the point Pud. The majority of the CM players are Americans or Brits therefore the West front is more interesting/appealing for them, but they still choose CMBB because of graphics, sounds and tackics, all these superior CMBB qualities .

As for terrain CMBB has more variety than CMBO, because of the Eastern's front dimension, from Finland to Black sea and from Stalingrad to Berlin and the steppe is only a small part of this.In other words Eastern front has all sorts of terrain except bocage. But plzzzz dont tell me you dont play CMBB because of it.

Finally, if you are intrested in WW2 you cant ignore the main front where the 75% of fighting took place.
