Question for zapps!!!!!!!
I know ladder games are played on the standard 1939 scenario. Is it permitted to have modified 1939 scenarios ie extra research points, limits on aircraft etc?

Do rivers having any effect on offensive air missions ie are they halfed as for ground units? Just a couple games I have played they dont seem that effective but it might just be my imagination

Are you able to play with modified 1939 scenario that increses AA researvh levels for all countires to counter to some degree the effectiveness of aircraft?

There is a downside to building lots of aircraft and that is the cost of replcements. A more realistic and easier to implement idea is to make the cost of fighters higher and double the replacement value cost for each air point. I am sure it will get so expensive to maintain so many airfleets that players will have to employ more conventional means of attacking.

Well if someone drops an Italian corps on a USA oilfeild whose fault is that!!
I always leave token defence of at least 1 ship and sometimes a bomber. You can see an invasion coming a mile away. How can a player recon the map before sending important ships in. Its not like we got patrol boats to do the job for us. Anyone who does not send a corps to do the recon buissness might as well play another game. I agree that there shoule be a transport limit and
a amphib capability for all sides and they should be different.

Its a game based on a period of events many years ago. Make it too complicated and people wont play it. I like it nice and simple but a few improvements can be made. Who wants to play an historical game ayway. We all know what happened!!

I am like you..I drop in every now and then and have a chat with myself. Pity the guys dont use it especially the room specifically for SC.

I was thinking a good house rule would be for aircraft not to blow the stuffing out of a HQ sitting behind the front lines unless the HQ is in contact with an enemy ground unit. Seems a bit unfair for your best commanders to be blown away by super fighters on their own.

What settings do i need to set to run 3R on XP. Installed everything ok including 1.38 patch but cant get the program to run.

It seems so stupid to me that aircraft can destroy HQ and spot them deep behing enemy lines. Like my dum commanders waiting to be hit by fighters that have X-Ray vision and can see my leaders going to the can for a piss!!
The game is no longer enjoyable to me hence I have withdrawn from all ladder competition and will only play freindlies against guys who dont exploit this big weakness in the game.
It might be part of the game in some peoples book but truly it sucks.
