Hmm Road to Moscow is just a big bitmapped image of a map with old looking unit icons that move on it. Not that impressive. It looks good and artistic yes, but I am an old grognard (well, ok, I am only 33 but still...) and I like my HEXES and I actually like a board that looks like Avalon Hills Panzer Leader lol.
AS long as the game plays well I dont care. However I do not want it as ugly as Russo German War. I do like some sound effects and some effort in the interface. Russo German war was so basic and terribly made I couldnt play it.

At some point I would be interested in a PBEM game with someone as well. Is there a SC site dedicated to that like the Combat Mission sites or like the TOAW sites?

Yeah basically I got my ass handed to me heh heh
I looked up and it was June 1940 and I realized that I couldnt even finish taking Belgium let alone France! I was playing poorly I will admit, kinda jumped in without doing all my reading so to say.
Anyway 1941 rolled around and then I saw a message saying Russia was preparing for war and I was like OH BOY. ALL my divisions were on the french border and then Russia declared war.
Needless to say I had relied on the fact that i had not provoked Russia and that they would stay nuetral. I was wrong LOL.
Yup, had to start that game over.

Well got the game last week due to my disappointment with Hearts of Iron. So far I am enjoying it but i am such a noob that I got killed my first game in with Germany
My question is this: will Russia always declare war with Germany in 1941, or can this be avoided. I saw that one of the triggers may be a weakly defended border.
I finally got the game! Uh oh problems already :(

Does anyone know if either of those mods are incompatible with 1.06? I thought I saw something about that in this forum which is why I suspect one of them but I did a search and I couldnt find anything.
