for vista 64 i'm try Asus Ati driver 8.641 beta no crash and also Beta driver from ATI 9.10 beta RC 6-7 no crash,but just try only 1 hour

I'm hearing that the OGL bug is fixed in 9.10 (and the betas)...

Same here, 9.6 doesn't work with CM:SF only 9.3 does.

Can you run CM:SF with Catalyst 9.4 & 9.5 with your 4890?

The game crashes for me with any driver newer than 9.3 on my 4870.

Tried first 9.5, which was just released hours ago, but the problem persisted.

Then after switching to 9.3 everything is normal now, no memory leaks. So, 9.4 and 9.5 will not work with CMSF.

ATi Catalyst driver 9.4 was the problem for me and Hafer, with 9.3 everything works.

SOLVED. i switched back to 9.3 - no probs at all. i know, not a perfect solution, but i can play the campaign :-)))

This seems possible, since the Vista problem seems to be related to the management of very fast multi core systems giving a lot of instructions to the graphic cards. Indeed a lot of applications with fast graphical processing are involved, not only CMSF.

Obviously maybe your problem is different; but I suggest you to install SP2 or the quickfix, just to be sure.

hm, but i ve an ati-card not an gforce..

Both me and Hafer has ATi 4870 cards.

Hafer we should try rolling back to Catalyst 9.2 or 9.3 and see if stability returns...

A little update.

One other thing that has changed is the drivers for my ATi 4870 1Gb.

I now run Catalyst version 9.4

Hi all,

I just patched my Vista 64 Ultimate installation with Service Pack 2, since it's final and released to manufacturing.

And now I'm experiencing CTD after maybe 5-10 minutes of game play.

I had NO crashes ever with SF on the same computer before Service Pack 2.

That's an amazing number of 'free' game patches from them.

I love BF and CM series.

But the patches are not "Free"!

I expect a good product for my money, which CM:SF is now but not at 1.0.

There might be something off with enemy placement in 1.06...

I just spanked the airfield (spec force hq) mission on veteran for a total victory without losing a single soldier , a few wounded though...

And this is only the third time I play this mission.

First let me say that I'm very pleased with patch 1.06 and the game has reached a level were it's stable and very enjoyable for me.

But I can't help to wonder what the focus of the next patch (1.07) will be?

Perhaps some of these..

- Better infantry pathfinding through doors?

- Tweaked shadow rendering for both ATi/nVidia? (or is this only driver issues)

- New mission editor features/improvements?

I agree with c3k, and especially in realtime mode the GUI gets in the way of enjoying the game.

I also run CM:SF in 1920x1200 btw.

I'm eagerly awaiting 1.06... haven't really gotten into CM:SF yet.

Tried at 1.02 but there were too many bugs for me.

However I will keep buying the CM series since I know the problems will be fixed.
