  1. Dear All,

    The CMMC 2 game is still on but bearly. There are a lack of Game Masters particularly for the Soviet side.

    We would like 4 - 10 more.

    About being a Game Master

    For myself seeing a large scale battle take place with THE SAME structure and the SAME planing conciderations as a real battle had me hooked. Why worry about about a subsection when you can see the whole thing smile.gif !!

    Game Masters also SET UP the battles to be played and in some instances do the outcomes - when no tactical battle takes place.

    It it a hard job requiring quite a bit of dedicaion and it will also last for at least 10 months.

    Also you will have a big learning curve due to the lateness of all this. However you will be instrumenal in keeping this thing going and will be thanked by many people.

    The sort of people this will appeal to are the "operational" fans, those who are into divisional size games.

    I have recently opened up the scenario editor to make a scenario - tough decision. smile.gif

    However something very bad happens and I am not sure if it is because I am cursed by one of Hitler's astrologers. On the initial preview screen in the editor, units ( ie: platoons) do not collectively move ( like IN a set up of a scenario).

    That is all units have to be moved INDIVIDUALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!! :mad:

    This is almost a " slam dunk" in people NEVER making large scenarios it is just MILES too inconvenient.

    Does anyone have a fix/ idea ?

    Did Steve really want this to happen, doesn't he care for the band of scenario makers who toil ( now an everlasting toil) in providing food to the masses???

  3. Hi,

    This is an unoficial announcement of the progress of CMMC 2. I am not sure if there is to be a spokesperson from there but I will volunteer smile.gif

    The maps are presenty being made and will number in the first instance between 40 and 80. COCAT shows the terrian well and the terrain itself ( many river barriers: alibet maybe frozen), forests etc will make movement far from easy.

    I hope by early March (as a GM) that force allocations for both sides will be given out. It would be good even before the battle begins that commanders, upper/ lower echelons of each team get to know one another.

    There will be no marked rescheduling phases in this " war"; this starts from the gun and keeps going to the end.

    6 weeks should see this baby up and running.

  4. CMBB IS NOT AN ENGINE REWRITE!!!! IT IS AN UPGRADE OF THE EXISTING ENGINE!!!! MANY GAME IMPROVING TWEAKS WERE MADE, BUT IT IS STILL THE SAME ENGINE AS CMBO!!!!

    I think I included that in my original post. My point is either fix operarations so they work sensibly or forget about them altogether.

    I notice American's here seem to have a fair ol' attitude.

    By the way if Steve gets pleasure from posts such as yours ,,,,,,

  5. If you are happy firing away at a FRONT line location then CM2 as it stands will be sufficient. You will no doubt be happy that this will be your strict diet. :cool:

    After all, despite the fantastic detail into weapons data ( frankly I think it was if anything overmodelled) why introduce further complexity by modelling a linked battle ( aka a campaign) by actually modeling a proper outcome.

    Perhaps campaigns should be abandoned ?

    Although my initial heading was a little extreem I am just trying to impress that the engine re- write should I respectfully address really important issues and not the inclusion of a JS -3.
