  1. Ok. I posted this in the tips and trick forum, but no one seemed to be able to answer the question to my satisfaction anyway (no offense WWB). Please forgive me if this has already been answered elsewhere.

I and others were wondering what the use is for the radio cars like the PSW 223 Light Radio Car. Are these vehicals supposed to be able to keep other AFV's in command or are they just in the game for authenticity. I am aware that AFV's can be bought in platoons and that some of these vehicals have radios in them so they can more easily stay in command, however the radio cars cannot be bought in platoons and they do not seem to have a specific purpose.

If they don't already I think these should be used kind of like Company or Batallion commanders for AFV's. They could keep other, radio equipped vehicals in command.

Anyone have a thought on this?

  2. Most of us have played pirate er... backup copies of games before, but doing that to BF.C is just plain wrong. It is the one (ok two now) game that I will not play a copy of nor will I copy for any one else. BF.C is one of very, very few game development companies that I have the utmost respect for.

    (reverent pause)

Now if they should see fit to send me an extra copy for free... ;)

  3. I had never seen this before. Thanks for the tip. Any more tips or tricks for the Radeon? I have had a lot of problems with it. I get a real nasty CTD once in a while in WinXP. I have tried all their drivers as well as the latest via 4in1 for the AGP slot on my board. Can't figure it out. Has always orked for CMBO though. This is new problem with CMBB never seen it before.

    Thanks again.

  4. I have noticed that sometimes the game will kind of freak out for lack of a better term. When this happens I cannot see the selection highlight boxes around the units, some menus on the QB setup screen and the height numbers on the map editor. there may be others, but thats all I noticed. A restart of the game seems to be working fine.

Running: AMD Athalon 1700XP on Gigabyte MB with 256mb ram, 40gb hd and an ATI Radeon 8500le 128mb.

    Resolution set for 1024 x 768 at 75mhz

    Anti aliasing is turned off.

I did recieve all files during the install.

Also running with the latest Catalyst drivers for the Radeon card.

    Any thoughts?

  5. sidebar: what is the function of the 223 radio AC? Just another AC with only a MG? What is (if any) gain from having the radio on board? Now if a spotter could ride with and call shots using that radio, there would be some functionality for it in my mind. Unfortunately, you can't....
I am also wondering what the use of these radio cars is. If the FO can't use them than why would I waste points to puchase one. Are they just in there for authenticity and all that? Anybody know this one?
  6. Phoenix, AZ - Recieved at about 11:00am this morning. Played one quick battle then had to come to work. This sucks!

The machine guns and arty are fantastic now. I ran a 500pt. QB today with one platoon of SS Mountain troops three mg42 heavy and an 81mm morter spotter w/radio. I played defense against a Soviet attacker. An entire infantry battalion was completely wiped out by my small veteran force. I won a total victory with only 4 casualties, 1 dead.

I noticed the AI did not come by the route they probably would have in CMBO. They tried a flanking manuver which did them no good due to effectine use of arty and interlocking fields of MG fire, but still it is good to see the AI is improved.

  7. I am an avid player of CMBO, but new to this forum. I was wondering about the new QB generator in CMBB. The one thing I always wished for in CMBO was the ability to use my own user-created maps for a QB instead of the random generated ones. I would love to be able to create a great map and have the game populate the enemy units. Can someone tell me if this will be an option in CMBB?

BTW I like the new interface. It takes some geting used to but all in all it seems much better.
