I would think that what is needed most is on map mortars for taking care of AT guns and MG's. Although I never hear anyone complain about MG's tearing apart infantry like they did in CM. I have only played the demo a little bit so far so I cannot comment on the campaign mission difficulty. Are artillery fire missions rare in ToW or just ineffective?

There is a fiction book about Vampir it is called Master Sniper by Stephen Hunter. A very fun read.

Aristoteles - Your Marader III® is one of the best mods I have ever seen. These new ones look real nice as well. Keep up the good work!!!

Search for some of Jason C's posts they will help you learn how to use infantry properly in CM

I prefer CMAK, dust, American and British units, as well as their fast arty make the difference for me.
I recommend it.

I second that idea, a mod would be most helpful.

PZ 38 is pretty sporty.

I love AT rifles as well I always buy several when playing any side in CMBB or AK. They save your AT guns from having to unmask and kill light recon vehicles. I have had them Gun Damage larger tanks as well.

My Grandfather fought with the 90th Infantry. He was a radio operator, Landed on D+8 and was with them through the end of the war. He never would talk about his expirence there very much. The one story he told me, was that him and his buddy found a Benz and were tooloing around in it when there CO took it from them. From there is supposedly went up through the chain of command and eventually it became Patton's car.

Yeah smartass I have tried Fallschrimjagers, I guess I have not looked close enough, since I rarely play battles involving them.Have you tried - surprise - Fallschirmjägers? -
I would also like to see some camo'ed Grants. Pretty please with a cherry on top!

I have often wondered why the FG 42 is not modeled in the CM series. Was it that rare? Or is it in the game and I am missing it?

Excellent posts by all, Thanks a bunch.

When you finish a 10 battle operation on a static map, and look back at the map and see shell craters, destroyed buildings and burnt out tanks across the landscape that feels rather epic to me.

I bet your buddies homemade games don't have 100+ individual units on a 3x3 km map. I agree the graphics could use some work and I'm sure they will be completely overhauled before CMX2. But in terms of what you get for your money with CMBB and CMAK I'll take these graphics any day over any other wargame I have ever played.

If the fields were never harvested they would reseed themselves. If they were cut the seeds would be gone, hence no volunteer crops coming up.

Use heavy buildings. They work the same way.
