In the US 43 rifle squad. What is up with the Springfield rifle? Not there in the 42 squad. Why did they have a bolt-action rifle in the squads in the middle of the war, not before and not after?
In the US 42 rifle company. The six man headquarters squad. What was that for? Are those the cooks and such? They have a two man headquarters section, and a bazooka team as part of that ‘platoon’.

What web sites and/or books are there about the 1939 Polland Campaign, real world.
-
Where are some web sites that have campaign files for download?
-
When starting in 1939, is there a way to hold/save Poland? Or how can you drag it out as long as possible?
-
How much does low supply hinder your units?
-
I do not get supply in SC. I had landed a for in Norway form Britain, I captured the one city on the coast but the three corps I had over there never got their supply values up...
-
Are there any custom campaigns that take place just after the Battle of the Bulge? This would be the Battle of Germany where they Germans are trying to fend off the Allies.
-
After the Shermans started to show up in larage numbers what became of all the M3s? You never see then on the main European war.
-
Why would they not do a Pacific war game? I would think they would pass on Korea and Vietnam because there was not much war of maneuver, or large amounts of tanks. I could maybe see a Gulf Wars game (but the advance stuff like TOWs might take something out of it).
-
Are they going to do one for Europe from 1939 to 1940 Poland, France, Norway, the Low Countries (did Denmark even put up a fight when the Germans rolled in?)? What about a CM for the Pacific?
-
I must be missing something in that last post...
-
Anyone know what CMs they will be working on now that CMAK is out????

What is the resource that Battlefront used when creating the squads used in Combat Mission? As in, where did they find the information about what weapons/how many were in a squad (and how many men) from any given time period of the war.

Where can I find info on the different types on German units? Like what is the between Füsilier, Grenadier, Light Infantry, Panzer Grenadier, Volks Grenadier, Motorized Infantry, etc. Not the makeup of the squads in CM, that is easy. But like the back ground information on the different type of formations, their purpose and use on the battlefield. Like just what was a Füsilier unit, why/how was it different from just a regular army unit?
US 43 Rifle Squad and 42 Rifle Company Headquarters Squad
in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps

The Headquarters Squad is not a command unit. It is a part of the compnay level command 'group'. In the US 42 Rifle Company list in the unit editor you will have:
Company Headquarters
Section Headquarters
Headquarters Squad
Bazooka Team
... then the rest of the company...
I am just wondering what that Headquarters Squad was for in the real world?
It has 4 rifles, 1 carbine, and 1 BAR. Was it the staff officers and other support people, cooks, drivers, etc? A recon unit?
In addition, what are a few good books that have information like this?
