Yep credit is given. I'm not sure about the asking though, the License says you can redistro and modify. However it would IMHO be best to contact the author on a practical level they may have knowledge/experience that you don't have.

Say for instance I create a historical map for a historical battle, unfortunately my sources for the OB's are somewhat lacking. It would be best use of time if someone else with that knowledge could use my map to improve on my scenario. Could be years after I loose interest in the game! The community benefits and I won't come along at a later date demanding that 12 different versions all using my map get taken down.

Note; It is as BFC say - your work, you can restrict how you like - I was mearly pointing out a very cheep/successful way of developing. There are others that the Linux community uses.

Hi rune just some quick comments, on the above.

Personaly 40% = pass (I'm from UK, that's what a pass is in our education system). Just to show how one persons scoring can vary from what other people might expect.

I agree with not totaling/averaging the scores up and only having one score per review 1-5.

Also demand a written review, don't except just scores.

    Remove reviews without comments.

There must be some editorial control over all reviews. Otherwise some idiot could go on and review people he didn't like deliberately badly mulitiple times. A badly written/considered review is misleading to the downloaders as well as hurtful to the designer

I assume Amazon maintains editorial control over the reviews on its site.

Also I would perhaps remove low rated/ few downloads scenarios after a time(1yr/6mnths?). Essentially throw the bad ones off!

Harsh and perhaps not what the owners want or have time to do.

Just some ideas which may be way of

    Too many steps to death

Tero and Smope your turns are with you...

Smope Finally some action eh! I have to report you have delived a crushing blow to my 'ScareCrow' platoon situated in the wheat field. However the AFV hidden in the haystack is fine.

Terro I can't belive you've got another of those AFV's almost as much as my HT's brief survival, it would seem your first shell bounced of the MG smile.gif

I think Desim is with us,

Yup! although my turn around speed is worse than a boged stug.

Smope you got a turn as did Tero.

Lukily whoever's (forget at moment) playing me {and wooping my ass bad} at Dius Irae hasn't returned the turn (And I'm sort of hoping has disappeared).

April fools has stalled - I did get an email saying the game was still on but that's about a month ago. Admitedly it was obvious that I was going to win after 1 turn but we are only on turn 5ish now and I am slightly disapointed that I don't get to kick your ass in this one.

Very good suggestion - also while doing it how about some extra import functions for geographic data sets and an import/export to an unprotected format so others can write thier own editors / converters.

I haven't seen the new editor so cannot comment on it but I can forsee better map editing tools being developed by the community in the future.
