That's really good news! I'm on a Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz/2GB RAM/X1600 and DLd the demo and ran it under Boot Camp.Originally posted by rune:[QB] Directx is Microsoft, Opengl is an open standard that unix, macs, and others use. We are hoping to port to game to macs, so opengl was picked.
Tried it first on the internal 1440 * 990 screen then on an external 1280*1024 monitor.
Graphivwise, even with modest settings I experience flickering (soldiers seems to be swapping textures several times a second + even stances flicker betrween to correct and the 3D-model-crucifix-stance most noticable when run on the internal screen.
Furthermore there seem to be an audio problem. Soldier's voices loop constantly creating a cacaphony of chattering voices when the viewpoint is close to the units (sounds like a Middle-Eastern market place more than professional soldiers
The demo hung hard several times during the tutorial scenario to the effect that I'll problably pass on this title unless I find a working solution or you'll port it to Macs (or Linux systems).
Did you ever test it on Windowns under Boot Camp? If so - do you think a Macbook would suffice?

No need to now when the Intel Macs are out...Originally posted by Kilroy Lurking:I just might be tempted to cross over to thr Dark Side.

I beg to differ. Greup is the fondly remebered 10-3 Oberst from the original Squad Leader game. After honoring his memory with taking up his name as my nick (yeah, I'm a bit pretentious) I realized that most real-world Greups are in fact dutch rather than german.Originally posted by Michael Dorosh:Greup is fondly remembered as the 6+1 Oberst from the original Squad Leader; I love seeing his name crop up from time to time.
What was that lousy 6+1 leader's name again? Have to dig out my SL counters from the attic.
EDIT: Ooops, should have read the entire thread before commenting... Rosenberg.. + the romanians had a 6+1 leader as well, didn't they?

Yes, I would say so - at least until the commercial (Ostfront) version comes out. Unfortunately that one will leave us Mac and Linux people out in the cold so I guess that there will be still some people left at RO3.3 afterwards...Originally posted by ExplodingMonkey:Well, maybe I need to give it another shot then.
Still have a decent following?

Are there any custom-made scenarios from the Italian front yet? (I'm just back from a trip to Rome and Umbria)
Does anybody have a map of Monte Cassino suitable as a staring point for making a CM map?
Parallels 3 and CMSF?

Does any 3D games run under Parallels at all? I doubt it.
Regarding Boot camp: Care to tell us what mac you are using? I get lots of different kinds of errors (graphics, sound + app hangs) under Boot camp on a Macbook Pro.
