  1. I can't take it any longer.

I'm going to hold hostages in the local Wal-Mart store, until BTS releases Barbarossa to Berlin.

The hostages will be released when BTS delivers the software to the door.

This is a joke for you alarmist. Any word on the date yet?

  2. I find that move is good to use when in traveling overwatch . I designate my lead tanks that have less firepower and move them fast to the nearest cover , while my larger gunned tanks overwatch from behind while at move speed. I have tried overwatching in hunt mode, but in takes away from the speed of the attack and my tanks get to spaced out, therefore minimizing the shock effect.

  3. It seems like splitting squads in the logical thing to do in about every situation. You spread out your firepower and increase your fields of fire. Having 10 to 12 men in one area, to my knowledge is not a good idea in any combat situation. If you so desire you can always put them the split squads close together and direct your fire on the same target. Recently I have begun splitting and find it gives me more freedom and increases the realism. Does anyone no of any liability their is to splitting squads?

  4. I want to pick the minds of you seasoned veterans. In a meeting engagement is it best to rush to the objective and immediatly go into a defensive posture; or to carefully and slowly work my way to the objective, ensuring that all my firepower will arrive on the objective at the same time? In doing this I am assuming my enemy is already at the objective.

  5. I'm puzzled by somthing. Due to the fact that units need to be in C and C, I feel I am somewhat limited in my attacks. There have been times when I wanted to call mortars down close to my postion, but because of keeping the mortars close and in contact with the hq unit, it was to close to the target to fire. This is also a problem with machine guns, having them in contact has limited my fields of fire. Any ideas.

  6. While playing CB, I have noticed horizontal lines that flicker against dark backgrounds. I realize this may be a monitor or videocard problem, but it clears up after I reboot and launch other programs. Then, when I play CM it starts again and will effect other programs after I exit CM. Any ideas, I have talked to the Dell reps online and I get no where, I figured someone in CM family could come through for me. Thanks

  7. These where 76mm Shermans, who had no previous engagements during the game. I checked to see if they were shocked, but they seemed fine. I like to think that yes, they where urinating themselves about the fact that 2 Panthers where right on top of them.

  8. I recently encountered a situation while PBEM with a friend. My two Panthers where cresting a ridgeline and where partially hull down. I had an LOS on two Shermans and the action phase showed he had an LOS on my Panthers. I killed one Sherman, but one of the surviving Shermans refused to fire back, even with an LOS. After 8 seconds a shell hit causing the crew to button up, yet, it didn't penetrate. They continued to sit there another 10 seconds without firing a shot, only to be blown up. I understand LOS decreases when a crew is buttoned up, I don't understand why the Sherman didn't fire before closing the hatches. Later I moved up out of my position only to find a Pershing appear right and to the front of the destroyed Sherman. I clearly should have had an LOS on him from my hull down. After viewing the action phase from several angles, I'm confused about these things. Can anyone clear up these questions. I realize the game is not perfect, but it comes pretty close to the real thing.

  9. It occurred to me that certain assault guns, like the STUG III (tanks without rotating turrets), would realistically; have a longer adjustment period getting the gun on target. It's my understanding that the commander would have to make the adjustments while telling the driver which way to turn the tank. Also a gunner or someone would need to be at the sight block screaming left or right. Are my assumptions right?

  10. Whenever I view the action phase of a turn and click DONE the game does the usual and ask me to save the file. The only thing different is that it won't allow me to change the name of the file. I have to save it under the name my partner sent it under. Even if I would have changed the name after closing the game, I don't see how that could change the data in the file itself.

He mailed me this morning saying the file was corrupt and that it was asking him for my Allied password. It seems like I sent him the exact file he sent me.
