    Interesting topic. Hmmm, I think if the Nazi's won, the Jewish people would have been hunted all across the world. But I think many would be protected, hidden, and this would cause Germany to invade more nations. All in all, I think Nazi Germany would have lasted until Hitler died of old age. After that, I think the whole thing would have fallen apart due to power struggles, and rebellions.

    Praise God the Allies won. And may he hold the men and women who died in that war in his eternal hands.

    Everyones picking on me ;) j/k heheh Well, heh, this thread was not supposed to be about CMMODs, and its gitting a tad off topic now, but i'll still answer.

    First let me say, no matter what, I still like CMMODs, and the work you have done. Now i'll answer you questions honestly, just keep in mind I still think your great :D

    To your first problem, speed. Do you have any idea just how many hits your site gets a day? If its as much as I think it is, why not stick some add on your site to help you make money from it? Why make money from it? The money you make from that site could go to speeding it up. I would be willing to stand a few adds to quickly look around the site. smile.gif

    Now on to Organization, I use the Search when I have something to look for. But when I just want to look around at the Mods, and im not looking for any one certain mod, its a mess in terms of the listings under "Type". Maybe im just to use to CMHQ, I dont know. Just would like to see it better.

    I cant really offer you advise, I dont know what your limits are, but i'll try. Let me ask you this first, are you alone working on this site? Is it ONLY you doing the work? If the answer is yes, do you have any idea how much your missing out on guys wanting to help you? Their are guys out their just waiting to help you with your site, by adding Tab's, Art, Style, all types of things to get that site looking great, and who knows. You could always put a Post out their for some small aid.

    All things aside, im a big fan smile.gif

    Still support a Mod Fourm, I think it would be good for us all.

    Let me preface this reply with the understanding that I'm not picking on Volker. He just happened to be the one to speak up about it.

    There always seems to be two complaints about my website...speed and organization. I don't mind the complaints, as long as they are somewhat helpful. It let's me know that something can be improved. Let's address these issues.

    Speed: I can't do a damn thing about it. Users complain, my wife complains and my son complains. Everybody wants more speed, but NO ONE WANTS TO PAY FOR IT. I don't have an extra $700/month for a T1 line for you guys. When you're pushing an average of 3+GB per day through a 384k connection, that doesn't leave a lot of room to work with. I hate to say, but you'll all just have to suffer with slow connection speeds.

    Organization: Now this issue has a tendency to frost my 'nads. I just went to the site, clicked on 'Search', typed in 'sound' and got back 28 mods, all of whom were in the right category. I hear too many complaints like "It's too hard to use", "It's too messy" and "I can't find anything". After working in the IT world for 15 years, I've come to realize that some (most?) people are too lazy, or in too much of a hurry, to read any kind of instructions or to take the time to look around a little. (Again, I'm not saying Volker is lazy, I'm just stating a general fact) If the mod author was silly enough (or simply made a mistake) to put his mod in the wrong category, then let them know about it. I wish I had the spare time to sit in front of my server and watch every mod that comes in to make sure it's in the right place, but I do have a life ya know. ;) Besides, 90% of the organizational complaints are made because the user hasn't taken the time to look around a little. I think I've made it possible to sort by a sufficient number of ways to find whatever anyone needs, they just need to put a little more effort into it.

    Now, if there's something I can do to make the website more user friendly or easy to use, please let me know. Volker, tell me some specifics of your complaint and I'll look at making a change to fix the problem.

    I really do appreciate everyone's gratitude for the website. It's runnig pretty smooth now and I plan on keeping that way for a long time to come. </font>

    Well I can understand how you got to that point, but I was just stating the obvious, it is rather a mess, but that does not mean its COG's fault, thats not my point. People can toss any Mod they want on that site, I dont expect or would wish it on COG to have to look at every last one and put them in the right spots. Thats up to the Moders, simple by having that site is great. Im sure a Mod Board would go a long way to helping everyone.

    On your second point about BF, if the Community pushes it enough im sure they would give us a Mod board, you never know. smile.gif

    And yes I agree, I do appreciate COG's work, I think we should all pitch in a buy him a Hallmark Card :D

    For pete sakes KC im not slaming CMmods.com, how in the world did you come up with that one? I think that site is the best thing to happen to us who play CM, anyone who runs it is cool in my book. If ANYTHING, a Mod Board would help this guy, not give him more problems. I fail to see what your point is.

    So we smash and crash everything on this poor guy, and let him fix everything? Or do we put up a Mod Board for people to get their Mod info, then DL from where ever the Mod is. Not all Mods are at CMMods.com ya know. With the mass of Mods out their their needs to be a place we can go to find them. We dont need a CM:BB Mods boards, and a CM:BO Mods board, just asking for one Mod board for guys to Post their stuff, it just makes things more Simple for everyone. I dont see how anyone can be against this. We are about to have THREE Combat Mission games, theirs gonna be so many Mods coming its gonna be a huge pain to get what you want unless theirs Board for it. It would be nice to just look around in a Mod Board for new Mods, rather than hunting for them in the CM:OB board, and CM:BB board, and soon the CM:AK board.

    I don't want to jump all over this but: CMmods is there and it is free . We had an opportunity to contribute to it's growth(speed?) through contributions, we declined... :rolleyes:

    COG is doing a helluva job, for free , to slam it is totally unfair, unless of course, you are willing to take it over and do a better job.

    And Matt has stated more than once that if he had his druthers, there would be fewer forums long before than would be more.

    Honestly not trying to sound harsh, I'm just trying to ward off/delay the day that COG throws in the towel 'cause his site has become to demanding upon his time. smile.gif

    True, but thats the point anyway. CMMods.com is like a 4 year olds bedroom. A total mess, people toss Mods in their all over the place. I found a Sound Mod in the Terrain area.     Oh no.....Right now I feel like that guy in that commercial with his face in his computer monitor screaming...no....no...no.....NOOOOO!!!

    Battlefront your really scaring me, I have these high hopes of CMX2 being the Greastest WWII Game ever, and your starting to scare me.

    The only way your gonna have Blanced Modern War, is if you make it up. Some kind of Fantasy War. But getting my dad to play anything thats not WWII, I dont think so, he made it clear to me he has no interest in any other type of game....other than sports. If CMX2 aint about WWII, I wont be getting it. :(:(:(

    Im a WWII Gamer most of all, tho im sure i'll get Star Wars Galaxies, and Planet Side (Cause WWII Online failed my hopes) I will always be interested in the next WWII Game. My dad and I are just hooked on CM, why? Cause its the first WWII game we can play TOGETHER! After years of watching me on games like Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942, and WWII Online, now we are together, his army against mine. Of course we will buy just about every Combat Mission game that comes out. I plan to buy Battlefield Command too, but to bad my dad and I cant play each other, unless we link our computers.

    But you guys are forgetting one other WWII Game you should be watching... http://www.panzers.com/english/index1.htm not to bad at all huh?

    BTW, Im hoping CMX2's Graphics blow Battlefield Commands ones out of the water. I like Uber Graphics, but with the same CM Gameplay smile.gif
