I now that this has been discussed before, I tried to do a search but could not find the relevant threads. So here we go:
I think that this bug originates from CMBO. What happens is that if I identify an enemy AFV, and that said AFV retreats out of los, I will still continue to see it as long as it keeps moving. To be honest I have not seen this in CMBB, until yesterday, but I think that is more due to that I usually do not play nightbattles, just because they are problematic. But I must say that I was surprised to see it in CMBB. So I am just wondering if BFC are planning to fix this bug with the upcoming patch. I assume that they are aware of the problem, but that they have not fixed it for one or another reason. In my opinion, this bug is actually the only feature in CMBB which is plain broken.
Let me know if you want any files from me.

I work as a media analyst, and I read the major newspapers on a daily basis, (DN, SVD, GP, SDS, Aftonbladet, Expressen), as well as a bunch of lifestyle monthlies, and to be honest I have not seen any reviews at all. Not even Swedish PCGamer has had an review as far as I can remember.Originally posted by Olle Petersson:Has anyone found a review in Swedish (published in a magazine, paper or on a regular gaming site)?
But yeah, CDV's marketing efforts here seems to be lukewarm at best. To be honest I have only seen CMBB on the shelves here in Gothenburg once.
If I stumble upon a review, I will let you guys know.

In CMBO there was this wierd but very rare bug, which meant that when you were playing a pbem the computer would absolutely refuse to load the file, and letting your opponent redo the last turn would not help either as the game would just produce a new unreadable file.
Unfortunately this seems to be happening much more often in CMBB. Yeah, I have not done any scientific tests on this, but so far I have had more pbem lockups in two months of playing than what I had with CMBO during two years.
What I want to know is:
- Has this become more common in CMBB or am I just the subject of some bad luck?
- Is it known what causes this problem?
- Is there any planned cure for this problem?
Yes, I did a search. This happens both in pre-patch and post-patch games. I use a pop3 account.

In Argie's/mine example it was dawn/dusk and clear. I had about two coy's worth of inf in sight of three pillboxes at a distance of maybe 300m. Then I had my conscript T34 standing still at 50m distance behind one of the markers, facing it, not seeing anything at all. Then I moved the tank to another pillbox, same procedure same result: nothing.Originally posted by Silvio Manuel:I would be shocked if they were daytime/clear. Maybe dawn or dusk and overcast?

Panzertruppen's CMBO buildings are wonderful, I sincerely hopes that he is working on a complete CMBB set.Originally posted by murpes:We can only hope that Panzertruppen is working on them right now and releases them the same day as DD's mods and then everything will be right in the world.

The day you give up your right to complain you are on the path to serfdom. But yeah, coffee is good, I am on my third mug at the moment.Originally posted by Fanboy with an German accent:I know I have got no right to complain

Hmm ... I use it slightly differently. On occasion I have issued human wave orders in order force my opponent to concentrate his assets on my low-quality marching troops. The gain is that I can then move up some other assets rather undisturbed and put them in a good position without being harrased by opposing fire.
For example: I recently played a game where I had no vehicles left and all infantery close to the main flag was supressed by my opponent's three Stummels. I had two ATR's on the other side of the map and needed to move them into LOS of the Stummels. Said and done I ordered my suppressed troops to human wave up to the Stummels, while I ordered my ATR's to move into a good position. My opponent had no real option but to stand firm and deal with my human wave. He did it well, but was later on shot by my ATRs. Was it worth it? Yeah, I had fresh reserve infantry which could move up after the Stummels were killed.

Does it mean it is balanced for single player only, or just historical without any concern for balance at all ?</font>Originally posted by Thin Red Line:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Andreas:

Thanks for the mod, I love it. Now, if just Panzertruppen could do some of his house-mod-magic then things would be even better.

Heh, I reacted against that value is supposedly determined on the equipment's own intrinsic factors, and that the procedure is empiciral and scientifical.Originally posted by Tarqulene:Probably - he also used the word "impossible", which like "always" and "never", or even "nonesensical" (Hi, Fionn!), are likely to make me... post... Heh, I am not surprised that this comment came from you. My guess is that both you and I are having our buttons pushed at the moment.Originally posted by Tarqulene:"Scientific modeling" I don't understand, though. How's it apply to the point system?

My grandfather on my mother's side served as a fallschirmsjaeger, from 39/40 until 44 when he was captured. As far as I know he saw action on the eastern front and were wounded there three times.
My grandmother served as a JU-87 mechanic on the eastern front from 42 to 44. She never spoke anything about it, she was a women who liked secrets.
My Danish step-grandfather tried to enlist in the Red Army, but was captured and interned in Sweden.
If I recall correctly, my grandmother's brother also served on the eastern front.

Send me a setup and I will spank your tango. Not that it will help Argentina's GNP though ...

I was thinking of sending you a postcard depicting the ugly and junk infested high-rise buildings of northern Gothenburg. But then I realised that, doing that, would have meant that I would have made an effort to grant you your wish. Screw that. I went to the toilet and took a **** instead.

So, so. Things could have been a lot worse. I mean, they actually managed to put a Panther on the cover, did they not? Could have been a lot worse. Imagine an GI dragging his buddy in front on a charging WV Beetle. That would have been bad.Originally posted by Holdit:That crowd could make a mess of selling lifebelts on the Titanic. The main issue was that I suspected that the manual would be an issue, (never guessed that BFC would work around that problem, heh), so I decided to get a US copy instead. Lack of responsiveness from CDV was also a concern, I would rather stick with the old gits, so that I would know what I would get in terms of customer relations, etc.

Mmmmm .... good idea Mace, give him more attention. That is like giving a crackhead a box full of pipes and saying 'here, enjoy yourself'. Might be a fun idea, but the longterm effects on the community can be devastating.Originally posted by Mace:Awww, stop ya griping or we'll name another peng challenge after you.

LOS problems during night-battles
in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Posted
I just watched some of the turns, and it seems like I will keep contact, maintain it, and regain it if lost, as long as I have one or more troops that are within hypothetical daylight los.
An official word would be nice.
