[Looking for Over The Reich and Achtung Spitfire!!]

You can find used copies of these at amazon and sometimes Ebay. I have legal patched Over The Reich and Achtung Spitfire running on a retro Win 98se machine. On a newer Vista machines I have heard that a MS Virtual PC host running guest win 98 works too.

The so called "abandonware" versions are not patched so you stuck with the unpatched version, but they do include aCD fix that allows them to play on newer machines without the CD.

These are both unique games, with a good AI and solitaire play they worthwhile reviving. I would love to work on the SC for these.

[How does camouflage effect on CM?]

Camo can make solitaire play a bit more interesting. Especially when views are limited, and transparent unit markers are used. The AI's units often disappear and sometimes pop-up unexpectedly.

After you download all those mods you may need a way to mange them all. Check out CMMOS.

Try changing things in the game that you don't like first then experiment. When I first started to play CMBO I had a hard time distinguishing the woods from scattered trees, so this was the first terrain feature I changed. I have a friend who loves tanks, so these were the first to get changed in his. I now constantly change the way my game looks (terrains, skies, buildings, etc), so it rarely looks the same each time I play
