  1. Hi! Im looking for some good campaigns to download and play and would be happy for some recommendations. I've downloaded the Perdition minicampaign and it looks like an astonishing piece of work but my computer gets the hiccups when i try to run it. I guess its because of the sheer size of the maps and number of units so if you could point me in the direction of some smaller ones i would be very happy!

I do prefer red on red but anything goes!

  2. Another thing that I hope will be fixed is an identical WeGo to CMx1. Right now as it is you have to watch an entire turn, after the orders are given, without being able to fast forward/rewind or pause. Only until that 'observation' mode is done can you review (doesn't make sense to me).
Remember that "bluebar" in CMBO, CMBB and CMAK when the turn was resolved? There is no such bar in CMSF the action starts directly when you end the turn. Someone said in another thread that the turn is resolved in real time (or something like that) and I for one rather watch that than that hideous bluebar that sometimes took minutes to resolve.
  3. As reported above I have the exact same problem. Running Vista with an ATI-card on a AMD X2 Dualcore.

As an experiment I installed a clean copy of Windows XP on another partition and now the game runs without trouble when selecting units and performance is great...until the "teleporting units-bug" strikes after about 2 minutes. So game is still unplayable but maybe this can help narrowing down the problem?

Ok, further testing this i disabled one of the cpu's and now the game works as a charm! This is with just a clean install of Win XP, no microsoft patches or fixes, no amdcpu drivers or coreoptimizers. latest drivers for my ati x1900 from ati.com

  4. I'll pitch in here...Running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bits. ATI X1900xt, 2 gig ram and a AMD 64bit x2 4200 processor. Same thing for me. I can start the game and give some orders then after about 30 seconds the game freezes and the windowscursor appears and i have to ctrl-alt-delete out of the game. Tried every ati driver from 7.1 and upwards and no change, fiddled with the settings in the controlpanel with no luck. Tried the dualcore-optimizer and no change. Reinstalled directX and no change.

Installed the game on my girlfriends computer. Pentium 4, 2,2gig, 1024mb ram, ATI 800 videocard and also Vista Ultimate and got the exact same problems there.

Im going to drink myself to sleep now and dont work yourselves to death fixing this.

  5. Hi!

Just bought a new graphiccard (Pointofview geforce 3 Ti 200) plugged it in to my system and tried to run CMBO...It runs fine! Problem is with Operation Flahpoint, when I tried to start it the screen just showed gray, but I could hear the game in the backround. Tried to reinstall the detonator drivers 2311, same thing. Tried to reinstall the game, same thing. So I tried to install Ghost Recon, that I bought at the same time as the GF 3...surprise same thing there!

Any suggestions what could be the problem? I can run CMBO and the Medal of Honor demo just fine, but I can't run Operation Flashpoint or Ghost recon? Got a 1ghz Amd, epox 8kta3 mainboard and plenty of ram :(

  6. A while ago James Bunnelle released a great compilation of black and white unit portraits (available at combat-missions.net). I liked it so much that I decided to try to do one myself and this is how it turned out:

I don't know about releasing it to the public would be legal since some of the pictures are from other games like Rising Sun and East Front but I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong please)it's illegal to email them to anyone that would be interested.
