say hello to our new robotic masters!

nah, the BTS crew is probably sitting around somewhere, smoking and drinking, and forgetting to release the patch.Originally posted by Magnum MGG:Havent found it yet, but I did find this news so it's either out there already, or will be up soon.
Combat Mission 2 Patch online - The folks at battlefront.com did release an enormous Patch with over 100 bugfixes!!! Version 1.01 is even more realistic than the older versions and the patch is about 55 megabytes full of new vehicles and weapons for your ultimate combat experience!
can you advise Mr. Martin...

update: i just upped my system clock to 150MHz, and my video card (GF4 4200ti 128M) to 298MHz core, 550MHz memory. now my good, old 1.33GHz athlon is just about as fast as a P4 2.0GHz.Originally posted by caligula_jones:i just installed the 40.72 drivers, and everything works great... my 3dmark score even went from about 9000 to 9950!
and, as the final icing on the cake, my 3DMark2001 SE score went up to 10347!!!
ah, hotrod budget computers... killing germans hasn't ever looked so good!

i haven't tried CMBB w/anitialiasing yet, as for stability and framerate's sake i keep it off. my curiosity has been aroused, and i'll check that tommorow.

*bump*
i'm living in berkeley... and would do almost (but not quite) anything to get a stab at a preview.

what *i* want to see is all 12 guys from my 12-man squad running around.
also, the ability to have more skins per object, and have the ability (automatic or in-game) to manage them. i would just love to have 4 different-looking (same model) PZ-IIIs on the screen at once!
a nice full-length campaign might be cool, too.

'gerfingerpoken' comes from this little diatribe that was once posted in every computer ops room in the world:
ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!

heh, after going CMBO-less for about a month, i finally posted my sadness to you guys...
...which made me remember exactly where to look! i found it within 15 mins of me hunting for it.
anyways, yeah: i just made my backup copy, in case it gets "cleaned" somewhere else in the future.

yay! i found my CD!
-
wow, two posts in one day... i guess i'm not lurking anymore.
i've been a gamer for close to 20 years now, and pretty hardcore about it. CMBO is the best game i've played, ever.
and now we have this *and* CMBB coming out. i can't wait until both are tied together. massive army sweeps, and zooming down to certain areas to duke it out in person.
man, imagine a PBEM game with different levels of command, using 100s of people.
keep up the good work, guys. i can't wait to get my grubby hands on this baby.

sigh...
i would like to share with you a fate that few a young (and not so young) man should want to face:
i cleaned my desk, and my CD disappeared. only a week previously, i had modded it out and taken a break from playing. i've been playing is straight through since, sheesh, it was released.
i guess it's time to start playing multiplayer. heh, i just need to re-wire my house to make my box the router. oh boy!
(now do ya feel my pain, brothahs?)

this is a great topic...
anyways, i wish i could find the sources, but i remember seeing pictures from the gulf war of a couple of M1A1 Abrams that had been bit a couple of times each by, but weren't taken out by hits from iraqi tank guns.
both abrams' were sitting there with APDS darts sticking out of their turret sides.
it was kind of funny: with the end of the dart (fins and all) sticking out in the air, they kina looked like NERF weapons!
