1. Hi,

I seem to have a Pershing on my site that's suited for winter but it's not really whitewashed, it just has sort of a "It's cold out here" kind of look to it. I think it looks rather nice but then again I havn't really seen any others (although I'm sure theres more by now). Its in my allied section of the mods in my site. (BTW expect changes in the site to occur soon)

  2.
quote:
When I established Forward Observer, one of my goals was to create a "neutral" site where all webmasters could have their news posted.... The question is: Did FO (and now CMHQ-News) achieve this goal?

I think that you certaintly have acheived this goal, and not only was your idea great but you knew what you were doing and we could actually depend on you to make sure that our news was heard.

But as far as making all sites have an "equal voice" I agree with Rommel that the sites with the Better Reputations almost always comes out on top due to them always receiving top of the line goods and other various features on the sites, these sites don't really have to rely on anything else than that of the people that submit stuff.

Us smaller webmasters rely on, well, you Ted to make sure that others know that we're here. Without you I'd certaintly be extinct or close to it since you introduce us to more people that might come back on their own once in a while just to browse the site or leave a message. But I still think that we can't contest with the bigger sites and I'm not trying to really, I'm just trying to help the CM community in any way I can (since this game and HTML are my favorite ways to pass the time).

All in all Ted, you have helped us all out alot and certaintly have made an impact on our sites. Thanks for being there for us!

  3. Well, on the same day I was trying to use the background image as the background image for a bravenet.com forum. All was great until I remembered that I can't post images from Angelfire to other sites/servers (or something like that) and the forum displayed the same image I see on my site now, the "Image Hosted By Angelfire" pic.

Im using MSN Explorer 6.0 and have just reinstalled it and loaded the site but the Image is not there. So I've decided to create a new one once I get a chance (Background that is). Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.

  4. Thanks for helpin me out Panther. Well, at least thats good, now all I have to figure out is how to make it so I can see the background as well (hmmm). It is really hard to make out the words without it since the font is white...any suggestions on how to overcome this obstacle of mine (tried rebooting and deleting temp files and loading up the site again, problem is still there)? TIA.

  6. Hi,

This way is alot harder than the previous message suggested. Im going to leave this up just in case.

    1. Pop the CMBO CD in.

    2. Open up My Computer and click the down arrow, select Combat Msn (D smile.gif.

    3. Now click on the Start Menu then go to Programs and open up Windows Explorer.

    4. Look around in Windows Explorer and find a place to put your CM: DFDR version in (Create a new folder if you have to).

    5. Bring up the other window and select all of the files on the cd and drag them into the folder you created.

    6. After all is done install the DFDR conversion pack and your done!

I hope you understood all that, good luck.

  7. Hi all,

I've done a winter mod for the Archer SPG. I've added some markings and also an Allied Star on the front end of the vehicle to try to make a distinction that this tank doesn't drive with it's gun up front but towards the rear (I got confused the first time I used this tank). Anyway I hope this one fulfills your needs until the Hot Shots come up with a better one smile.gif. It's not posted yet and I plan on dimming the markings a bit before I do post the mod, if you would like anything else added or done to the mod please let me know. Thanks.

  8. Looks pretty cool, I don't think you were going for the whitewash effect otherwise the snow would've been alot lighter. Looks like the dang thing just drove through a snow mound smile.gif. I like the wheels, looks like it's been going through some deep snow as well. The only thing that I dislike is the red lights, I don't know if they were used during the war or not but it sure does make the tank stick out (I would presume). Other than the lights, the TD is mahvelous, keep up the great work Schulz!

  9. Sgt Schulz,

Great work on your first mod ever, it really does look nice. I don't think it follows historical winter camo schemes but it sure does look cool. I've posted it on the site (for those of you who havn't checked out the FO) and is available for download. Nice job Sgt, if you want to send me anything else feel free to do so, my site is open to anybody (especially first time mod makers smile.gif).

  10. Very Cool website you got there Gustav, I just browsed through it all and it looks like you indeed did put alot of work into it. I'll be checking in on your site daily, oh thanks for putting my link on your site, don't know if it's worthy of going to now since your site is up smile.gif.

  11. SuperTed,

Sounds like a great idea although the idea of not having a forum kind of hinders it, seeing that people prefer this over the E-Mail method. If you would like a free message board check out www.coolboard.com , this would allow for anyone passing through to comment on the site, mods, problems, etc. Hope this helps!
