  1. Saw a documentary about Kursk battle, there one highly (some 15 medals) decorated woman tank commander shared her memories how her tank was in the action.

her main concern in the war days were lack of hygine (you know what I am talking about :)

  2. I played TOAW (the first version) nearly 1,5 years. And I enjoyed it. Only problems for me were IGO-UGO system and endless ways of cheating - that really drove me off from TOAW.

And of course as a proude owner of the FIRST version, I very much detested the Talonsoft attitude of "Lets make another verson of TOAW and collect more money for the same product". I guess there are about SIX versions of TOAW.

But until Norm Koger was the true first fan and supporter of the first version (numerous patches released) I was satisfied.

  3. Oh-oh-oh

It was just a challenge to Swedish guys to form a group and have a friendly match in group ladder. I belong to Finnish group as well and we thought it would be fun to have a match with close neighbours (I am Estonian)

Cyberfox said something about shutting the whole group ladder down if there are any flames between different nations...

We meant no offence, if no Swedish group is formed, we cannot fight it and that is that. No need to take anything personally.

  4. Thanks for reply

Probably You are right about the sneak issue.

But the fist point really happened and twice in the same scenario. Maybe it is the issue WHERE exactly the troops are, I placed the squad on spot where computer showed the bocage would begin, so they were NOT INSIDE the bocage but rather behind it. If they are right behind the bocage, they won`t see a thing through the bocage.

And people have adviced to place the troops on spot where the bogace begins, not inside of it, so they have cover, concealment and los through it.

But when under fire they try to go throgh the bocage to other side probably cause in the other side there are some woods and in the same side there is flat field.

I came up with this theory.

But anyway this should not be so.

  5. Hello

I am in a "alerted" state and cannot do search therefore...

Maybe it is covered before, BUT infantry behind the bocage when discovered by enemy tank, or more likely blows cover by opening up the fire against tank commander 30 meters away, runs under fire THROUGH bocage to the other side where the enemy tanks are NOT the other side where it would be protected by BOCAGE.

Due to this behaviour infantry units are standing erect, taking fire till they die trying to run throug bocage.

    This is totally illogical.

    And another minor thing:

Infantry while sneaking STOPS even when enemy tank fires at them from 300 meters ie. is following sneak order - move to contact. Is there any possibility to tweak the sneak order so that "move to contact" is implemented only in case of soft targets and AFV-s what the infantry REALLY CAN damage.

    Waiting for the replies.

  6. TOAW used the variable game ending very successfully.

The game went on a turn or even two when the situation was on the edge and it could ended a turn earlier when all was clear.

So Battlefront guys should implement variable ending. But what they have to say about this?

  7. In the Tuturial mission "Fire and Maneuver" -SORT OF A SPOILER-I had a German halftrack with full squad hit the AT mine, guys hopped out, nearby allies started shooting them, whole squad who survived AT mine hit ran like hell over the small slope - panicked of course- only to find out AP minefield, three explosions and they were all dead. Interesting to watch probably AI was having fun not me.

  8. There were work battalions as well in Soviet army.

Maybe we can see squads armed with shovels and saws...

Red Estonian battalions were sent to the rear areas as work battalions cause in the battle for Velikje Luki some "comrades" changed sides and joined encircled!!! German garrison in Velikje Luki.

Estonian battalions were allowed to fight again 1944 to reoccupy Estonia and so our people ended up killing eachother...

Oops this was offtopic, I guess
