  1. For especially close-quarter battles (ie- city fighting and lots of forests) I like the german submachinegun squads. I forget what they're called, though. They are deadly at close range with their full-auto weapons.

I'm also very partial towards any armored vehicle with 20mm cannon (Lynx, armored car, etc). Very good against soft targets and even can take out the occasional sherman with a side shot.

As for the allies, .50 cal HMG rules the open battlefield, and 105 shermans, I am learning, are very handy indeed.

Henri- sounds like just really bad luck overall, but this sounds like your tank got bogged in the grass. Was it a wet day that you were describing? This happens to me a lot, especially with the heavies on the grass.

  3. This happened to me in a QB recently. My veteran Tiger was behind a house in a defensive position with an ambush marker at the edge of some woods about 180m away. When a Churchill came into view about 400m away I moved my Tiger into LOS of the Churchill without cancelling the ambush marker. My Tiger sat there staring at the ambush marker as the Churchill pinged away at it and finally killed it.

Sure, my Tiger was spotted by the Churchill, but once it starts taking shots, it should redirect its attention to the highest threat, right?.
