I could hope that someone had made one!

Hi, looking for a mod that increases the font size of messages such as:
REINFORCEMENTS HAVE ARRIVED
Thanks

Hi Poesel71, I have HMGs that run out of MG ammo. It happens while on the defense. The last time it happened was two weeks ago during the Troina campaign when the Germans were counter attacking.

While playing the Fleeting Moment campaign... my HQ R-35 takes a hit and the TC is lost. Amazingly, the driver does not bail. I highly recommend playing the campaign!!!
In the next scenario, the R-35 is running solo without a TC. MG and main gun will not fire, obviously. It's in a bad spot, thus I order it to back up and continue backing up until reaching the exit point (final scenario in Fleeting Moment campaign).
Then I got to thinking: how is that R-35 with only a driver backing up 250+ meters, avoiding dense woods and rough terrain without a TC? Is the R-35 equipped with special rear view mirrors? Fun!
Thanksgiving fun and giggles.

Hello, I am looking for a mod that makes HQ icons easily distinguishable (company, battalion, etc..)

Thank you for your service.

Huge QB... found enemy reserves. They were all huddled up near a map corner.

Excellent. Thank you!

I am not the best person to answer your situation. I can send you one of my saved game files if that would help?

I'm on the last and final battle for the beaches. The American 57mm ATGs have claimed many tanks throughout the campaign. They are extremely difficult to knock out. Whenever I see an ATG icon, I train a 75mm caliber tank on the icon for the remainder of the scenario or until the tank runs out of HE rounds. I have yet to take out an ATG with 81mm or 105mm barrages.

Its not a matter of doubting your word but the BFC guys have been working on this game for about 5-6 years (on top of the 5-6 the spent on its predecessor, CM1) and have done a bunch of research, programming and testing for authenticity of results. They get tons of questions and complaints about this and that and over time they have more or less adopted an informal policy that gives more weight to people who can, with save files or other data (like test scenarios), show that a problem exists and is replicable. The game does simulate some of the randomness on the real life battlefield and because of that some weird things are going to happen, interspersed with many realistic events. Saves and test scenarios help them figure out if its a fluke or not.
This reminds me of the time I spent testing a bunch of odd configurations in CM1. I made 10-20 rows and placed opposing forces at the end of each row. Run the game. Watch the results. Rinse and repeat.
For example, how well did 20 Panther A's fair up against 20 T-34/85s in solo lane configuration. I loved testing all sorts of things. First hit calculations. KO ratios.
Well, that was a long time ago!

Wait a minute.
We need someone to reconfigure that Bren tripod into its AA stance, pronto!

Spreadsheet Mission: Pedology of Normandy
Lol, quite the comical statement. I suggest a new app: Google Earth for Normandy, circa 1944

I'd be surprised if mechanical failure was modeled. Although prevalent with many initial models, there's scant documented failure rates/data to properly model.
-
Octomom has declined the initial offers. However, I see you still have hope

Glad to see things were sorted out.

Wishlist:
Marrying operational art of war with cm, then starting a Barbarossa scenario. It would be an exciting mix of strategic and tactical operations. (hint hint hint) It would take a year+ to to finish a scenario, but oh the joy...

holy moly
Thanks for the clip

Hmmm, looking at the two tripods illustrated here, it just might be possible. I'd want to see the ground version from more angles before I committed though.
Michael
Although the quoted material below lacks a source, I did find this snippet.
Despite the fact that the BREN, like its predecessor ZB-26 was mainly intended for the light machine gun role, it was also offered with a sustained-fire tripod, and provided with a sufficient supply of full magazines and spare barrels it could serve (to some extent) as a medium machine gun. The same tripod was also adaptable for the AA role. Dual gun mounts were used for anti-aircraft role and on certain land vehicles, used for Commando “hit-and-run” missions during WW2.
-
Be a little awkward for shooting ground targets though. I suppose you could stand on a box or something, which would make you a nifty target for the enemy.
Michael
I believe the AA and ground tripod are actually the same. They are simply different configurations that allow interchangeability. So basically you get both versions.
Resurrecting the Bren thread is bad ju-ju. lol

Thanks. It worked fine in IE w/o passive enabled.

Patch 1.01 is on FilePlanet and some ftp site in Greece. I don't want to register with FilePlanet because they require some sort of IGN plugin program. The FTP site in Greece had the file, which I hope is legit.
And for 1.02:
http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=625&Itemid=245
The link to Battlefront.com for patch 1.02 seems defunct. ftp://ftp.battlefront.com/pub/patches/cmbb/CMBB_v102_Patch.exe
No joy with the Gamer's Hell or AusGamers links for Patch 1.02. 3DGamers is now FilePlanet. Where can I get 1.02?
Please consider doing a single comprehensive patch for version 1.00 to version 1.03 for some of us who have the original version? Would you please host it on Battlefront.com?
Thanks

Has this been answered:
What are the Syrian's nighttime and IR capabilities? No reason to battle during the day when you own the night.
Axis HMG definitely needs looking at
in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy

Has anyone evaluated the effectiveness of higher skill HMG crews in the game? Perhaps veteran or crack HMGs are utterly lethal?
