  1. UPDATE - both problems fixed. Apoc's suggestion worked, I went into Control Panel/Mouse/Pointers and chose Windows Standard. That seemed to fix the box-behind-mouse problem. Switching to Single Chip in the 3dfx Anti-Aliasing setup fixed the text corruption after escape problem. If I switched to FSAA 2X or 4X, the text would be corrupted after returning from being minimized. So it seems the choices are play with Single Chip and escape all you want, or play with FSAA on, and don't press escape.

  2. I got the full version today (yeah!) and I"m having a few graphical annoyances. First,in the menus, the mouse will leave a square block where I clicked last. Second, while in the game, if I press Esc to go to the desktop, then return to the game, it badly distorts the text on the screen. I don't know how to recover it, except to exit the game and restart it.

    My specs:

    P3-650

    Voodoo5 5500

    384 MB SDRAM

    Intellimouse Explorer

nothing overclocked. I've tried disabling the Intellimouse software, and tried changing the windows color depth from 32 to 16 bit. I have all the latest drivers for everything (I'm stickler on that stuff).

  3. Hi all, what a great day, CM has arrived! Now, since I'm kind of new to these boards, I was wondering if someone could tell me the best place to get the best scenarios. I've already got the Mad Dog Mod Pack, but I'm looking for scenarios too. I saw where one guy said he already had 73 MB in add-ons!

Thanks for any suggestions, and happy gaming!

  4. First off, everyone should sign Teach's pledge not to make copies of CM. (See the thread "A final plea ..."

But I would like to make another pledge and hope folks will sign it, too. I pledge to SPREAD THE WORD about CM. As an example, it was days after the CM Gold Demo was released, and Avault still had nothing about it up at their site. I emailed them and described what a great game it was, and told them about the demo. The next morning, I woke up and whaddya know? the demo was posted at Avault. Spread the word, write to game mag and website editors and tell them how great CM is. Games marketed like this need a grass roots effort to make it really take off, and we all want this game to succeed so there will be others like it in the future. BTS deserves a huge success on this one, and so let's do our part and help them out. It's games like CM that make computer gaming a great hobby.

    SELL IT BOYS!!
