Last update of the day, tried the game on my old retired PIII laptop with a really rubbish spec. and the game works great!
The key to this error is buy an old computer, DO NOT UPGRADE whatever you do
Seriously, I`d really like to know how to get this great game working on my gaming rigs...pls update us as and when, thanks in advance

Cheers Matt, here`s my sysinfo if that helps!

Been waiting for this release for a long time, extremely long face here at the moment....I`m hoping a work around comes up, or that in 2-3 weeks the CD version works ok..
-
one is a Radeon 9700 Pro, the other Nvidia 6800GT mate..ie in 2 different PC`s
-
Forgot to mention, the demo worked great! What could the differences be between the demo start and full game start do you think guys?

Hi guys, I too am now faced with exactly the same error message. Only its appearing on both my PC`s..have re-downloaded the game file, resinstalled directx 9.c etc, and no joy so far.
Thats 2 instances of this particular problem, i need company, misery needs company, has this happened to anyone else out there, and if so, how did you resolve it without using an olde-spec PC? here`s hoping..

Interesting thread. I`m sure that I read an article on the web way back, that indicated that Sven Hassel was a pseudynm (sp?) that a very well known author used so he wouldn`t be identified directly with this work...have I dreamt this or can anyone enlighten me?

Hey thanks for the assist.
I have a USA version of CMBB. Ended up solving the problem my networking the PC`s together and copying over the files from one hard drive to the other...worked a treat!
-
Hi, just bought a brand-spanking new PC, an AMD 2600+, Radeon 9700 Pro, running on XP Pro.
Just got my CMBB disc out of the old PC`s drive, banged it in the new one and urgh..it won`t read.
I have 2 drives, one DVD, one writer, and neither drive will work. What happens is that the cmbb installer file is shown in explorer but then when i double click to install, the drives just spin up and down and eventually the system locks up, it can be retrieved by ejecting.
The CD still works great on the older PC so I know it is not faulty.
Pls help!! Is this a copy protection issue?
Thanks
