  1. IIRC the M3 "Grease Gun" was a weapon mainly for AFV crews for personal defense. IMHO there would be no need to model it because any AFV crew bailing out of their damaged vehicle would not take the time to grab the M3! Once outside the vehicle their only weapon would be the .45 pistol.

IMHO I really don't think the M3 was issued to any infantrymen (special units, maybe).

But that's all just my .02-cents worth wink.gif

  2. Personally, when I don't recieve an e-mailed turn after a while (3 days - week), I re-e-mail the last turn I sent and state "in cause I forgot to send this..." Usually I will get a response and turn within a day or two.

But I still get 1 or 2 people who just give up and disappear from the face of the virtual earth ;(

  3. I downloaded Talonsofts' teaser for their upcoming game "G.I. Combat" and it looks a lot like a CM clone! There is too little data available to answer any questions about scale, time period (other than it is WW2), etc. But based on what the teaser shows, there seems to be individual vehicles and soldiers with a windows-type pull down orders/action menu.

  4. Steve,

Will you please look into adding an "abandon" hot key in the next patch? Why, you ask?

Well, (based on PBEM games) if my MG crew is being overwhelmed by the enemy, they are forced to only "MOVE"; whereas the enemy infantry has "RUN"! In real life, if given the choice between trying to run with either the .50 or any MG versus running without - which would you choose? Therefore, the "ABANDON" command who have the crew abandon their crew served weapon and make a run for it.

This command would also be implemented for AFV crews also. Nothing worse than having most of your force retreating (charging really fast in the opposite direction) and your crew of an immobilized AFV staying behind!

  5. Yes, it is true that there are heroes and cowards in all races. In the WWII magazine article that I read about the SS murdering the Black artillerymen, the artillerymen surrendered without a fight even

though they were in a stone farmhouse facing less than a dozen SS troopers.

But many accounts of cowardice are base on officers unfit to lead, willing to surrender than fight it out! In another issue of WWII magazine, a Sgt. slugged a Lt. for surrendering to the Germans without a fight during the Battle of the Bulge (this was an all-white unit)!

In the Italian campaign, the all-black 92nd Infantry was poorly led! The US Army felt it was better for the 92nd to be led by White Southerners (who for the most part were very racist), which led to a large mistrust between the troops and their officers! The troops more trusted their few Black officers (i.e. Vernon Baker - awarded the Medal of Honor)than the racist White officers who resented their assignment to the 92nd.
