  1. Hi there,

I have the Paradox CMSF version running with all the modules installed (Marines, UK, NATO).

I've just upgraded OK from 1.30 to 1.31, checking all the modules during the installation step.

Though when I run the 1.31 game the NATO module doesn't show anymore in the splash screen an all the NATO games/scenario return the message "NATO module is necessary"

Any idea about this issue ?

Thanks in advance and have all the good CM weekend

PS: After installing 1.31 my anti-virus "Sophos" software detect CMSF "d:/CMTO/Modules/CMSF NATO Module.exe" file as a malware !!!

anybody else have this issue ?

could be the reason why NATO doesn't show anymore in 1.31

  2. Hi There,

While playing a PBEM CMSF Marines 1.11 game, an MK19 Humvee fired a round to my BMP-2.

As shown on the pic (red circle on the left), the MK19 has fired - at the 1st shot - a volley of small grenades instead of a single grenade. Is this one of the MK19 ammunitions (HellHound or Draco described in the Marines manual p.20) or a graphic glitch ?

The game hasn't any issue otherwise.

I've seen the same graphic issue in CMBB and CMAK though.

    Cheers

  3. Hi,

Test is done: vehicules/troops/buildings in a QB with overcast weather. So , my apologize. It's indeed the overcast weather parameter that gives this hazy style texures to the vehicules/troops/buildings.

I know it won't be changed but less hazy textures in an overcast weather would look better. A greyer sky perhaps instead ?

Anyway, thanks for your help and test and sorry for the waste of time.

CMSF rocks anyway ! (especialy 1.11)

    Thanks

  4. Hi,

Thanks for the pics. For 'USMC Circle the wagon' it looks the same at home as on your pic in PBEM as in a Hotseat game. So it could be the weather parameter that gives these hazed textures ?

I'm going to compare the same vehicules/troops/buildings in QB with the same weather parameters. If it doesn't look the same I'm going to post some pics from the 'USMC Circle the wagon' vehicules/troops/buildings compared to the same vehicules/troops/buildings in a QB.

    Thanks again.

  5. Hi there,

I've started to PBEM "USMC-Circle the Wagons" scenario and the textures quality looks a bit blurred, average contrast, no color depth, average shadows. It only occurs with this scenario. Other PBEM games or PBEM QB looks prefectlty textured with high quality graphics (AMD 5600XP + 8800GTX, CMSF 1.11, with all graphic options set to 'best')

The "USMC-Circle the Wagons" is perfectly playable otherwise. It just look average for the graphics compared to the other scenario/QB.

The whole game is running smootly at the highest graphic quality since I've installed it when it was released. I've never had any issue.

Anyone else has encountered this strange graphic issue with "USMC-Circle the Wagons" or other scenario/QB ?

    Thanks

    Cheers

  6. Very great scenario, great map ! I'm still PBEM it (though I'm quite "finished" with the Reds). The realism is so immersive.

The best part of it is the continuous reinforcement for both side. The Blue really feels attacked from everywhere in a hostile town thanks to the Red reinforcements

    .

For a better balance in a HvH game I would give more RPGs to the Reds or less Bradleys to the Blues or an IED to the Reds. The Blues firepower is overwhelming and as soon as an RPG has shot once he's dead meat. I've hit twice a Bradley on the front and on the rear, but bad luck, he just mowed down the 2 RPG teams without a dent in his hull.

For now it's the best immersive scenario I've played so far . Thanks Birdstrike !! Waiting for other realistic scenarios.

    Cheers

A good film with few technical means but a good bunch of historical details and equipment. It's really CM on TV. I also bought video tapes from them and it's full with unseen (for me) WWII footages.

Hope the'll make a Steel Tempest II.

    cheers

  8. Hi,

I also advise you Trois-Ponts or Stoumont town (20Km from la Gleize), very nice area and Peiper's track way. The La Gleize museum is a very good one. Bastogne and la Roche are very nice too (especially La Roche). To eat/drink typical stuffs from here: "boulet sauce lapin and chips" with an Orval Trappist beer. If needed I can scan for you maps of the areas you want to visit.(1:100.000 scale with a lot of details: church, ruins, trees, castles,...)

    have a good trip,

    Stephane

  9. Hi Madmatt,

Just to know what about my last Panther A textures I've sent to TGN....just kidding smile.gif...I'll track you down and annoy you all over the world !! smile.gif

I see you've crossed my border, you was 50km from my house in Belgium. If you come back don't miss the La Gleize King Tiger and the Ardenne 1944 Museum next to the tank ( in the house of Peiper HQ last stand)it's really worth the look (Bastogne museum is worth too). La Gleize is 10Km N-W to Trois-Ponts, Stavelot. The museum of La Roche is very nice too (battle between the SS and Canadians)And don't miss our Belgian beers : Orval trappist, Maredsous and the Liège province traditional course: meatballs with "Rabbit Sauce" (meatballs cooked with onions, beer and apple/pear syrup = jäger sauce in germany )

Have a great journey on the Old Continent!

PS: it's told the King Tiger in La Gleize was saved from the US army blowtorch by a woman of the village who got the tank for a bottle of Cognac...perhaps you have a chance to buy it back Matt smile.gif

The King Tiger was restored in the 60's but if you glance at the muzzle brake you'll notice it was fitted/restored with a 75mm and not a 88mm.
