  1. So what's the deal with the combat shotguns? I suppose you won't include them because of the lack of info you told us. All I've seen are a few pictures of them in use. However, I think a WWII combat sim has yet to implement them. You could be the first, but that might have to bend "the scope" of what you're shooting for. smile.gif

  2. I take it units may take second thought to blast away at the location of their captured buddies? They ignored that in CC2, so I decided to line up my German prisoners in an area being torn away at with an MG42, and sure enough their buddies whacked them all, and my Recon team didn't have to babysit anymore.

  3. In Close Combat II, I've played many games and so far, the performance of the BAR seemed to be only equal to the Garands, but were more likely to jam. I even put the teams in high buildings and the BARs always scored lower kills than the Thompsons! Is the BAR really that bad?? How do you rate your BAR's compared to the ones in CC2?

  4. I've asked this earlier, and there wasn't a clear answer to this, so I'll check again since you've worked a little more on the game.

Will units just armed specifically for close quarters battle (submachine guns) be availible? I assume they would prove very useful in clearing buildings and other confined areas. And imagine the morale effect! A squad has your team pinned and they ALL have automatic weapons!

  5. In CC2, I liked how the troops gathered ammo from other unit members who were taken out of action. Like A Rilfeman goes down, and his magazines are distributed among the remaining members with the same weapon. Also, if a Bren gunner went down, another member of his same unit would take over its use. Will we be seeing these at least?

  6. I found that in close combat 2, the weapon that caused most losses from infantry were either grenades or hand-to-hand rather than bullets (even point blank SMG fire!!!). What to you have to say about this compared to CM's realism? Did infact grenades cause most casualties?

  7. We all know it is common in war to believe your enemy has superior fire power. So far, I've only heard/read of allies experience, like the MG42's fearsome "ripping canvas" fire, 'respecting' the MP40. But what accounts from the German's can you tell us about? How did a German rifle team feel facing a semi-auto American rifle team? How about the Bren, Thompsons, M2HB, etc.? Just asking because I know you've done MUCH more research than I everwill. smile.gif I'm tired of reading "one-sided" stories.

  8. I remember the quote "don't believe everything you read," so what can you tell me about this quote since you said captured weapons were rarely used.

"Whenever possible the troops in the front line opted for the Thompson M1 or used captured German MP38's and MP40's," (instead of the M3's.)

That came from the fat book "The Encyclopedia of Weapons of World War II."

Also does weapon weight effect troops? I mention this because in CC2, Tommy gunners would tire quicker than MP40ers, when in fact they both weighed a little over 10lb fully loaded. I thought this was an inaccurate portrayal. What's CM's like?
