  1. I'm one of the guys who bought the original one with all the errors from Battlefront. I think it was Steve who came on this forum and announced that the guide was to be totally redone and corrected and all who bought the original would receive the new one for free of course. I believe he said it would be out in February.

Has this been abandoned? If so can I send my original copy in for a refund?

  2. This came up long ago when CMBO first came out. The answer was that basicly a real commander in WWII wouldn't have this feature and the only way that LOS could be determined from a particular point on the battlefield would be to go there and have a look around. All part of the realism thing you see. As you know you actually can do this now by using Ctrl+left click to go to a spot then rotate down to ground level and turn a circle and have a look.

  3. I hate to complain about $15 but my guide just arrived. It's very helpful but,I think it seems to be missing chapter 4 and 5. I say I think because it lacks a table of contents with page numbers and an index. I just seems to stop in the middle if a sentence and start again 30 pages later. Will this be corrected somehow? Will we receive a corrected copy?

  4. Has anyone won this short scenario? If so my hats

off to you. Don't want to commit any spoiler stuff here but, my god, I've tried several times and decisive defeat is the best I have done. How in the hell do you advance infantry across open ground in a blizzard aginst dug in machine guns and infantry (heavly outnumbered also) without armor support or smoke. Someone please..........teach me something about infantry tactics. When in hell is that strategy guide going to get here??

  5. Is having to move a colomn of vehicles over some distance especially when there are turns and twists in the roadway, path etc. It really caused me to tire of CMBO especially when there was city fighting with many AFV's involved. Nothing has changed in CMBB. I'm just one of those gamers that do not enjoy plotting the path individually through turns and/or various terraines types for any number of vehicles. I don't care if it's two or 15. If you give a movement order to a group, even if they start on a roadway, to move from this point to that, it ends up looking like something from a three stooges movie. Can anyone comment on the possibility of putting some sort of "move road column" order for vehicles so that they move at the same time, at the same speed, and follow the road and not leave it to run through scattered trees then move back to the road. At least until they are fired upon. You all know what I'm talking about. This may not be possible without some major engine change but the folks at Panther Games sure figured it out. Excuse my rant but otherwise I enjoy this game too much. :D

  6. Does anyone have any inside info on how this wonderful game engine will develope going forward? I have two main interest.

    1) Command & Control/ micro management - Wouldn't it be great if an order could be given to the commander of company "A" to "take that hill" or "move to that position and set up a defense" and watch as the orders are dissiminated down throught he ranks and the varios platoons begin to try and carry out your orders. Yes, much as it happens with "Airborn Assult". (Love that game.) I personally have always enjoyed the small senarios because I really get bored giving orders to each and every unit especially if more than company strength.

    2) It would be great to have a listing of all your available troops so you could click on it and be taken directly to that unit on the map. Example, I know i have a forward observer and I have to keep hitting the "+" until he pops up. As I said it would be good to look at a list, click on the unit you want and be taken to the map location to give orders.

I'm excited to see what developes, meanwhile I'll continue to enjoy this great game as is.

  7. Ok I finally purchased CMBB. I'm ashamed to say I was waiting to do a demo comparison with GICombat. That was pretty sad. But,now that it's on the way, can any of you guys give me the best sights to find mods and scenarios going forward? Want to go ahead and put them in my "favorites" file. :D Thanks as always.

  8. Out of no where I have a problem. Got a new computer and reloaded the game and patch. Been running perfectly until yesterday. Now when I play every thing is good until I begin the game. I have no text in the info box at the bottom center of the screen. Also, when i click on hotkeys i get a black box with no text. Also, when i hit enter for the unit info box I get only a black box with no text. All the info text on screen during the game is now black and not white. I completely erased the game from my hard drive and reloaded from the disc and re installed the 112 patch to no avail. What in hell is going on. I have a gforce 2 card, but like i said the game ran fine for two months and only started after I alt-s to save asenario and alt-q to quit.

  9. To me, CM completely takes care of my needs for tachtical WW II combat and I don't see anything on the horizon, except of corse CM 2, that will come anywhere close to matching whats been accomplished here. Also I do not feel that a operational or strategic game of WW II or any war for that matter has been done right yet. Someday someone like Steve and Charles will come along and dedicate themselves to doinfg for operational games what CM did for tactical war games. That being said I would like to know what games on the horizon each of you CM gamers are most looking forward to. Personally I look forward to the pacific theatre games currently in the oven at 2by3 games. What do you think?
