Sorry to nerco an old post but I had the exact same problem, the solution for me was to apply the 1.02 &1.03 patches. In my eagerness to play the damn thing I forgot to patch the base game. Hopefully this helps someone else new to CM:A.

Ok sorted. No idea what the problem was, cleared temp files and it worked. Not so Grumpy now.....

And yes this is making more bloody grumpy than I usually am

Tried installing this so many damn times in the last few hours I've lost count. I am aware it has to be run as Admin, my anti virus programs are off. I have manually given CM:A exe full adim rights everywhere and for all users. I have run it in compatibility mode for windows 7 as well a my systems native win 10. Nothing has worked. I get to the last bit of installing then it just hangs on the last screen with the two sepia brown Russians. I then have to alt tab to get out of it. It installs nothing- no files no nothing. I had problems downloading CM:RT now this..............I just want to play the blasted game I paid for not d1ck around for hours installing endlessly. Btw I have had no problems installing any other game EVER on this system or any other.
