  1. Excellent! Thank you Dragonfire! I'm glad you enjoyed that T-55 mission. It is pretty tough. I found that you have to rely a lot on the allied T-55's and the Sprut-B guns to help knock out those enemy Leopard tanks. Without that they tend to see you long before you can see them.
  2. This is another take on the Meeting Engagement mission for the T-72B tank. In this mission you have air support from 4 Mi-8 helicopters and fire support from 152mm howitzer artillery. This will be available for download as soon as the Battlefront administrators post this mission to the Repository. The cache file is: Meeting Engagementv7.ca The script file is: Meetingv7.pd In this mission you and the forces you are supporting are tasked with gaining control of a small enemy military outpost and the local area surrounding the facility. The facility is another enemy early warning radar outpost that has been very successful in detecting allied air operations in the region. Command wants the facility captured, and the enemy mechanized forces in the area destroyed. Allied forces consist of the following: Your T-72B tank, a maneuver element of 3 T-72 tanks, a flight of 4 Mi-8 helicopters for air support, and an additional Mi-8 helicopter with an infantry squad. Enemy forces consist of 2 T-72 tanks, 4 Shturm-S cavalry fighting vehicles, 2 Leopard 1A4 tanks, and an RPG heavy infantry squad. Intell reports that the enemy mechanized forces are currently on patrol to the north of the radar outpost. They have not recently seen the location of the RPG infantry squad, but maintain that those troops are present in the area. Your task is to engage and destroy the enemy mechanized forces. A flight of 4 Mi-8 helicopters and a maneuver element of 3 T-72's will also be independently supporting this effort. Use hull down positions as much as possible to ensure your crew's survival and success. Once the enemy armored cavalry team of 2 T-72's and 2 Shturm S's is destroyed, the 5th allied Mi-8 helicopter will take off with the infantry squad, and drop the squad off nearby the radar outpost. The infantry squad will take up defensive positions among the facility's buildings. Once the drop off is complete, the 5th helicopter will join the rest in flying over the battlefield to search and destroy any enemy forces. During these efforts allied command has committed a 152mm howitzer battery to provide a continuous fire for effect to the north of the radar facility where we anticipate the bulk of the enemy mechanized forces to maneuver through. I recommend that you update your player's tank armor value to 2 in configuration mode (cfgmode.ca). Doing so gives the player's tank a realistic armor protection associated with a T-72B tank making it more survivable. During the production of this mission update, I had the enemy experience level set pretty high which resulted in a lot of frustration for me during game play. I have dropped the experience level of the enemy forces and enemy AI commanders somewhat from 80% down to 60% which seemed to improve the game play experience. Enjoy!
  3. No problem Dragonfire. You are very welcome. I hope you enjoy this one!
  4. If you are interested, I just uploaded some photos from this new mission and a few others to my fan page for this great game on Facebook. Just search for "T-72 Balkans On Fire" on Facebook, and you'll find it.
  5. I just played this one again, and got taken out by one of the enemy Leopard tanks. After which during the post mission 3-D fly through I got to watch the allied Sprut-B gun crews in action against enemy forces, and got to see a Shturm-S vs Shturm-S dual. The allied one ended up winning that, but got knocked out shortly after by an enemy RPG gunner rushing the allied Motor T facility. In the end, allied forces ended up winning, but it came down to one of the allied infantry officers in a shootout with two enemy riflemen and an RPG gunner at close range. The officer was able to shoot and kill all three with his handgun. Pretty intense. All of that I was able to watch during the post mission 3-D fly through.
  6. This is a new mission for the T-55A set in the level 12 Defense mission map from the T-72 BOF campaign series of missions. This one has been uploaded to the Battlefront Repository, and will be available for download as soon as the administrators review and post it to the site. The cache file is: Infantry Support t55.ca The script file is: InfSuppt.pd In this mission your T-55A is tasked with providing direct fire support for an allied infantry squad advancing on a farm to the southeast of an important motor transport repair facility. Intell reports that an enemy light armored reconnaissance detachment has recently captured the abandoned farm to the southwest of an allied motor transport repair facility. An allied infantry squad fortified with RPG-7's is currently on patrol through the village to the southwest of the same motor transport facility. This infantry squad has been given orders to retake the abandoned farm and destroy the enemy light armored recon force. You initial orders are to head south toward the farm, and engage it with OFS and machine gun fire. Destroy as much of the light armored recon force as you can as the allied infantry squad approaches the farm from the village. Command is concerned that the enemy light armored force has already gathered intell on our forces in the area and communicated this to their command. After driving out or destroying the light armored recon force, you should anticipate an organized enemy counter attack. Your orders also include supporting the allied T-55A's and the stationary forces around the motor transport facility with repelling the enemy counter attack. Enemy forces consist of the following: a light armored force including a BRDM-2, an MTLB, and an infantry squad, a tank platoon of 3 Leopard-1A4 tanks, a mechanized infantry force including a Shturm-S, an MTLB, and an infantry squad, and a flight of Mi-8 helicopters. Allied forces (in addition to your T-55A) consist of the following: an infantry squad fortified with RPG-7's, 2 T-55A tanks, a mechanized infantry force including a Shturm-S, an MTLB, and an infantry squad, and 2 Sprut-B heavy anti-tank guns. Keep an eye out for the Mi-8's and the Leopard's. The helicopters are more than capable of destroying your T-55A with their rockets even with setting the player's tank armor to 2.0. I found this to be a pretty enjoyable and challenging mission. I hope you do too. Enjoy!
  7. Since we can't post screenshots on this forum, Dragonfire, if you or anyone else that checks this T-72 Balkans On Fire forum out would like to see screenshots from this mission or others that I produced using the missions editor, please check out the fan page that I recently created on Facebook for this game. It's the page titled "T-72 Balkans On Fire".
  8. You're welcome! I'm glad you liked the last one Dragonfire! Thank you for being a fan of this great game!
  9. This will be available for download from the Battlefront Repository as soon as the Battlefront administrators approve it. The night Cemetery map/environment from the T-72 Balkans On Fire campaign is another great environment that I have wanted for a long time to build a new mission in. What I have produced is a new mission created in that nighttime Cemetery environment. This is a scenario where elements of an operational maneuver group (OMG), that broke through allied front lines, are now threatening one of your headquarters facilities and a helicopter landing zone that are miles behind the front line. The Cache File is: HQNightDefense t72.ca The Script File is: HQHightDef.pd Enemy forces consist of 8 T-55A tanks, 2 Shturm-S’s, an Mi-8 helicopter, and 3 infantry squads (one squad being transported by helicopter). Allied forces consist of 3 T-72 tanks, 3 Sprut-B anti-tank guns, and the equivalent of 2 and a half infantry squads. Expect your tank position and the helicopter LZ to come under attack first. Based on the location of the river to your east, and the helicopter LZ and a local settlement to your south, our intell resources tell us that your tank position will likely be attacked from the west-southwest. The allied T-72’s and infantry squad will not move out until the armored forces attacking your position are destroyed. Once that occurs the allied T-72’s and infantry squad will begin to move out to attack enemy forces that have taken over the helicopter LZ. Our Mi-8’s located at the LZ initially, will scramble at the beginning of the mission and begin a search and destroy flight pattern over the battlefield. The allied T-72’s and infantry squad will attack the helicopter LZ from the south. You can approach the LZ from the same direction as your fellow tanks or you can get creative and approach from another direction. The fire fight at the helo LZ will be close quarters, and remember, the T-55A’s main gun is very effective against the T-72 at close range. Approach with care, and use your night vision sights in your Gunner’s position. Once enemy forces at the helicopter LZ are defeated, the surviving allied armored and infantry forces will head for the river ford to the north toward the center of the map. To ensure that the player’s T-72 tank participates in the defense of the allied headquarters position, I have added scripts to have the remaining enemy forces wait to attack until after your tank crosses the river. Your tank may cross at either river ford position. The remaining enemy armored forces will attack in force from the south. This scenario occurs under cover of darkness and with somewhat reduced visibility. Enemy forces will not become visible until they are about 700 meters away from you. Using your night/infrared vision sights will be critical to being successful in this fight. This is a difficult mission to clear and pretty exciting to play from the Gunner’s position. As in most of the missions I posted, I recommend that you upgrade your tanks armor multiplier from 1 to 2 in the game’s Config mode. With the close quarters combat however, the enemy T-55’s will still be able to effectively destroy your T-72 tank. Enjoy!
  10. I'm nearly finished with testing a new mission I'm producing for the T-72B tank. It's set in the night environment/map that the T-72 BOF Cemetery mission was set in. I removed the gravestones and turned the map into a series of allied fortified positions and a helicopter landing zone. I'm in the final testing phase and really only need to tweak the enemy retreat trigger a bit to ensure that the mission victory can be attained realistically and smoothly and it will be ready to publish in the Battlefront.com Repository. Anyway, the situation is you and your forces are on the defense. There is an enemy force consisting of 8 T-55A tanks, three infantry squads, 2 Shturm-S's, and an Mi-8 helicopter. Allied forces consist of 3 T-72's, 3 Sprut-B anti-tank guns, 3 infantry squads, and 2 Mi-8 helicopters. Allied headquarters is protected by the 3 Sprut-B guns and 2 infantry squads, and at your fortified position the 3 T-72's (including yours) and an infantry squad are located. All positions will be attacked. The 3 tanks responsibility is primarily the defense of your position, and the helicopter landing zone. I set up the mission so that after the Helo LZ is liberated from enemy forces, the enemy attack on your head quarters position begins on your way to the HQ position so that the player's tank and surviving other T-72's and infantry can participate in a very intense defensive battle for your own headquarters. I've seen a lot of Mi-8 helicopter kills against T-55's in this mission which is pretty sweet actually, and in the post mission 3-D fly-through I got to watch one of the Sprut-B's in action against an enemy infantry squad. That was really cool. I was situated right behind the gun and got to watch the crew manipulating and firing the Sprut-B. The Sprut-B took 2 RPG hits, and lost 2 of it's three crew members to small arms fire, but the Sprut-B ended up the victor in that engagement with the surviving artillery gunner ultimately killing the entire squad. The engagement in that case took place at a range just under 400 meters from the Sprut-B. I should have this mission published to Battlefront.com's Repository sometime this coming work week. I'll post an update once I submit the mission in the Repository.
  11. You're welcome Dragonfire! I had a breakthrough when producing this one. This is the first mission where I successfully got an infantry squad to board a helicopter, and then have the chopper drop off the squad and have the two units complete their individual tasks after the drop. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one.
  12. I just noticed this one is now available for download from the Battlefront Repository. It's labeled T-72 Destroy Check Point.
  13. This mission will be available for download from the Battlefront.com Repository as soon as the administrators approve and post it. This is a new mission for the T-72 tank set in the level 10 Column mission environment. Your task in this mission involves destroying an enemy check point, and supporting allied armored and infantry forces in repelling an enemy counter attack. The cache file is: CheckPoint t72.ca The script file is: checkpnt.pd Intell reports that enemy forces have managed to infiltrate two tanks and an infantry squad into allied territory and have dug in and set up a roadway check point near an important road junction. The mission for your T-72 tank and crew is to sneak up on the enemy forces dug in at this check point and destroy them, or drive them out before they have an opportunity to destroy any of our supply convoys or reinforcements heading to the front. Once finished with the enemy forces at the check point, provide overwatch for helicopter borne troops as they are airlifted to the check point where they will take up defensive positions in the trenches left by the enemy forces. Then support an allied armored and infantry force in repelling an expected enemy armored counter attack. The enemy forces consist two elements. A small Operational Maneuver Group consisting of 2 Leopard 1A4 tanks and an infantry squad, and an armored cavalry force hidden nearby consisting of 2 Leopard 1A4 tanks and 2 Shturm-S cavalry fighting vehicles. Allied forces consist of multiple elements. A maneuver element consisting of 3 T-72 tanks, a maneuver element consisting of an RPG tank hunter infantry squad, a helicopter air assault infantry squad, and an Mi-8 helicopter. All elements are under orders to not move out until after the enemy forces at the check point are destroyed. The weather conditions for this mission are poor with rain and fog throughout the area. This means that your crew will need to rely heavily on your thermal sights to see enemy forces before they see you. Good luck and enjoy!
  14. I checked the Battlefront Repository yesterday, and this new mission is now available for download in the section Battlefront Classic Games > T-72 Balkans on Fire. The administrators just have not updated the number of available files to download from 13 to 14 yet. Have a great week everyone!
  15. This mission has been uploaded to the Battlefront Repository, and should be available for download pending review by Battlefront.com administrators as early as tomorrow (Monday 4/22). This is a new defense mission set in the Farm map environment from the T-72 Balkans On Fire campaign. In this mission you are tasked with destroying a numerically superior armoured force. The cache file is: Staging_Area t72.ca The script file is: StageArea.pd Your tank is a T-72B. Your tank crew and tank have been temporarily assigned to help keep a forward allied ground force staging area secure. Allied forces have set up this forward staging area on the grounds of a local farm. This area has been used frequently to arm up and supply allied armoured and infantry units which has resulted in numerous recent successes against enemy forces. Intel reports have begun to indicate signs that enemy forces have become aware of the location of this forward operating base. We think that an enemy ground attack is imminent for this location in the very future. Fortunately, for allied forces, the tank units, and a majority of the infantry have moved out of the staging area and back to the front lines. Unfortunately, this means that your T-72B is the only tank located in the staging area currently. The other allied forces located in the staging area consist of a Sprut-B anti-tank gun and crew, a platoon sized element of airborne troops, and 2 Mi-8 helicopters attached to the airborne infantry unit. To help boost your firepower, the coaxial PKT machine gun in your T-72B has been replaced with a short barreled 12.7mm heavy machine gun. Your mission is to destroy the numerically superior armoured force attacking the staging area. The enemy force consists of three elements. A tank platoon of 4 Leopard 1A4 tanks, an armoured cavalry platoon consisting of 2 T-72’s and a Shturm-S, and an infantry squad. All three elements are under orders to search and destroy all allied units located in the staging area. Weather conditions are currently very clear, therefore expect enemy forces to obscure the approach of their armoured force with an artillery smoke barrage. The enemy forces are expected to approach from the southeast or south. Finding a good hull-down position for your tank in this mission is critical. There are on the order of 10 hull-down tank positions in the staging area, not including 5 large shell craters, and a raised paved highway, so use any of these to your advantage and should the tactical situation change, be willing to move to another hull-down position. As with some of the previous missions I have produced, it is recommended that you go into configuration mode (cfgmode.ca) and set your tank’s armor to 2.0. I had a great time assembling this mission, and testing it. I hope that you enjoy it too! Have fun!
  16. You're very welcome Dragonfire. This new mission should be available for download from the repository as early as sometime tomorrow. :-)
  17. You're welcome! You know, I noticed that I can add "ammo crate" map objects for the the anti tank guns like the B-11 and Sprut-B. I'm going to start adding those. It makes the guns and crew look that much more realistic.
  18. Today I uploaded a new mission for the T-72, called T-72 Defend Airfield Mission. This will be available for download in the battlefront.com repository as soon as the Battlefront administrators approve it. In this mission you are tasked with supporting a small combined arms task force in the defense of a strategically important airfield. The cache file is: DefendAirfield t72.ca The script file is: DefAirfield.pd Copy the sound file Person_call02.wav from your SOUNDS folder, location: Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\DATA\SOUNDS, and paste the copy of the wav file in your TASKS folder, location: Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\DATA\SOUNDS\TASKS. Doing so will allow your T-72 tank commander to call out over the radio - "Look Alive!" as the mission starts. Your tank is a T-72B, and you are operating in support of a combined arms task force consisting of 2 Mi-8's, 2 2A45M Sprut-B guns, a T-55A, a Shturm-S, and an infantry platoon. Your mission is to defend, and prevent the capture of at all costs, a critical allied airfield. The Mi-8's are under orders to scramble immediately. They will fly to their initial point to the east at around 10,000 feet, then roll in over the battlefield at high speed and high angle of attack to improve survivability and effect on battlefield targets. The veteran enemy force consists 4 T-72's, 2 Leopard 1A4's, and 2 infantry squads. Intel reports that the enemy mechanized forces will approach from the south and are under orders to seize the airfield and ultimately use it as a forward airstrip for their tactical aircraft. Since the enemy forces and allied forces need the airfield intact, neither side will be using artillery to prevent damaging the airstrip tarmac. Allied forces have deployed anti-tank mines to the west, and southeast of the airfield. Tank obstacles including a tank ditch, dragon's teeth, and girder tank obstacles have been deployed, but anticipate enemy forces to ultimately traverse these obstacles during the battle. If you choose to maneuver over a wide area during the battle, be wary of the two anti-tank mine fields. This is a pretty intense mission, and it is recommended that prior to playing, you navigate into configuration mode and give the players tank an armor value of 2.00. The location of the configuration mode is Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\CACHE\cfgmode.ca . In config mode, this is done in the section "Realism" under the parameter "Increase own tank's armor". Set the value to 2.00, click OK, then Exit. Enjoy!
  19. I have uploaded a further updated version of the T-34/85 Mech' Ambush Mission. This update is pending approval of the Battlefront site administrators, and should be available shortly. Here is a summary of the updates for this mission: 1) Helicopters now have their own elevated Search and Destroy Script point allowing for very realistic helicopter flight, speed, and maneuver. 2) Your mission starting point is now located near the B-11 anti-tank guns adjacent to the captured enemy base. 3) The co-axial machine gun in your T-34/85's turret has been replaced with a short barreled 12.7mm machine gun. 4) The BRDM-2 has been re-positioned to a more advantageous and survivable spot northeast of your starting position. The cache file is: single01 mech' ambush.ca The script file is: SinMechAmb.pd Previous summary: In this mission you have a T-34/85 with a Shturm-S under your direct command. In this mission you are tasked with destroying an enemy reinforcement convoy consisting of 2 T-72's, 2 Leopard 1A4's, and a Shturm-S. Additionally, there is a flight of three enemy helicopters that are under orders to fly over the entire area with instructions to search and destroy. In addition to this, there is now an enemy RPG tank hunter infantry squad that also is under orders to patrol the entire area and to search and destroy you and your forces. The base in the far northwest is now held by allied forces including an infantry squad, 2 B-11's, and a BRDM-2. Your T-34/85 is modernized with a fully stabilized 85mm tank gun, improved internal firefighting equipment, and improved ammunition. Have fun with this mission. Sneak around the edges of the map area, use ground cover to your advantage, and snipe at the enemy armored column from extreme ranges. Good luck!
  20. You are very welcome Dragonfire and thank you! This game has just never gotten old for me. I love how it is so unforgiving and realistic. The 3-D fly-through after the missions is just great too. Even if you lose, and the battle rages on, you can cruise around and watch the rest of the fight unfold. It's great! I hope that others continue to play this great game too.
  21. This week I uploaded updated versions of the following missions that I posted on the Battlefront.com Repository in the T-72 Balkans On Fire area. Here's a summary of what was updated. Power Plant Assault Revisited - The mission script file has been renamed to Lv7PwrPlnt.pd in order to prevent disruption to the campaign Power Plant mission for new T-72 BOF users. (This update is currently pending approval by Battlefront administrators and should be available soon.) Mortarman Deke
  22. One thing I want to mention about the T-55 Mountain Factory mission. When the 2 T-72's and infantry squads move out, the script file has a command in it to have one of the T-72 commanders tell everyone in radio contact to "Spread out!". To have this voice command executed, please copy (hit Ctrl c keys) the sound file "Person_call03.wav" from the SOUNDS folder located in your Battlefront folder in the following location: Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\DATA\SOUNDS. Once you have copied the Person_call03.wav file, paste it in your TASKS folder located in your Battlefront folder at the following location: Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\DATA\SOUNDS\TASKS. Doing this allows the script file to actuate the voice command "Spread out!". It's up to you if you want to have this voice command in your mission. If you want it, follow the above steps, and it will be there. Thanks! Mortarman Deke
  23. Well, thank you Dragonfire! I'm really glad you enjoy these missions! It's nice to see other fans of this game out there.
