It was built on the chassis of a Panzer III. Originally designed to be a infantry support gun, eventually was widely used as a tank destroyer.After encountering the soviet T-34, the Stug III was equipped with a 75mm Stuk 40 L/48 gun and a MG34, this version was known as the Stug IIIG, the last and most common version.
