It sounds like you accidentally overwrote your scenario with a Saved Game (the save game name is defaulted to the scenario name - you can type in a different name however). This file will be uneditable in the Scenario Editor, even after resaving it. I've recently done this myself and it is annoying. The way to avoid it in the future is to copy your scenario to the Scenarios folder/directory before play testing it. That way a saved game won't overwrite it (since those are kept in the Saved Games folder).
