Mercury
Can anybody out there help me out? I've just got a new motherboard and upgraded to XP and this has apparently ruined CMBO! It installs fine, sound is fine but the screen becomes very narrow and has about eight identical pictures of the game all going at once, very blurred and just a mess. I'm using a built in 128-bit AGP Graphics Accelerator..... Any clues? I'm hoping it's something simple that I've missed but would be very grateful for advice. Thanks mercury
Schrullenhaft
Delete the C:\PROGRAM FILES\CMBO\Combat Mission Bynd Ovr Prefs file. You will now be forced to select another resolution, typically starting with your current desktop resolution. The problem you described sounds like a resolution problem. Typically it is one where the video card is putting out a resolution/refresh rate that the monitor can't sync to (with multiple images it is usually a resolution that can't be sync'd to). You may want to check for driver updates for your video and check to see if there is a specific profile listing for your monitor (otherwise most likely 'Plug-and-Play').
Mercury
Thanks for that I found that the first screen when it does the graphics test was virtually unreadable and I had been clicking ACCEPT instead of skip to next, eventually I managed to 'guess' where the skip to next option was with a mouse that I could not see and each test showed an improvement until it worked....hurray.....once more unto the breach!!!
