Would it be so bad to put Resolution in a Menu?

Recommended Posts

I am getting very irritated with the way Combat Mission selects the game resolution.

I want to play in a res higher than my desktop.

The only way I have found to do this is to delete the .prefs file and set my desktop res to what I want to play CM at. Then fire up the game.

What gives here? This appears to be a very well programmed game. Why can't CM support a "resolution options menu" like every other game in existence?

I know the workarounds have been covered at great length, but I have not seen any posts from Bigtime explaining why they can't simply support a "resolution options menu".

In a similar manner, I'd like to see some audio controls that are saved in the .prefs file.

Other than resolution and audio levels, I've had no problems with the game. Loving it!
