Huh?!? PNGs are about 4 times larger than a JPG on the highest quality setting. What they are is more compressed than a TIFF or BMP. But compared to a JPG they're far larger. Which is not surprising since they are "lossless".

Ya reckon?

Both saved 100% quality.

Yup, PNG files compared to 100% JPGs are smaller usually, or close enough that there's very little difference between the two formats, no doubt. It's when you crank the JPG save quality down to 70% or less you start to see some real smaller file sizes for the JPG versions. I always try to make the file size a decent size if I can.

Looking pretty good so far! I was talking to WWB on the phone this morning, starting to feel my Scenario Design juices flowing.

Kudos to BFC

Sorry for the png, but it was actually imageschack that converted my pictures automaticaly, from fraps standard bmp, which isn't much better. I guess I'm a little spoiled, Sweden is far ahead in high speed internet. :D

The answer was: Self propelled artillery meet Stugs!

Anyhow, look at that crater! It takes cooking of ammo to a whole new level!

Are you saying that the cooking off amo caused that crater? Holly smoke - pun intended. I had a Sherman cook off amo for a really long time after getting taken out but it never created a crater. Amazing.

Barkmann the beast...

66 Combat victories plus what would've been 13 Tank kills had the gunner had a few more seconds to pull the trigger in the following picture. :)

Uh, not exactly... it exploded to bits by a stug shot, but I'm pretty sure it was because of the artillery ammo onboard that made it so big.

PS: I guess the lesson is: Don't bring self-propelled artillery to a tank fight.

I had a crater that big happen after a Sherman 105 got hit as well!, I don't think its overly healthy to have anything near them or the priests in case they get hit ,you get a seriously big boom :D

I've decided that RT is better than WeGo. The Pause button is the key to making the transition. :-)

Yes it is. I wouldn't want to go back to WEGO with this capability.

I also think that the pause button could be 'timed'. For example, you get up to a pre-agreed amount of pause time before the other player gets points.

I was amazed at how long the rest of the guys in the other tracks stayed in those things. They were standing up firing away and taking some pretty bad hits. This was the second one that rolled in and started firing away.

Tigers can not cross rivers unless there is a large bridge and/or a shallow ford. It will not cross a deep ford. So your saying that the Tiger tried to cross the small bridge then it tried to cross the river then made it to the other side of the river bank or did it stop at the bank of the river?

This was Last Defence BTW and I think there was some type of ford down river but this happened right by the bridge. Tiger was parked parallel with the river facing toward the bridge about 20 m from it. I put a quick move way point on the opposite bank thinking the AI path finding would take care of the rest. It did but in the unexpected way of crossing the river right where it was. The Tiger made it up the other side and continued to function normally. This all happened in real time.

Ok, now I understand :) thanks for the information.

Almost 20 of my 52 losses in my latest decisive victory in the tutorial caused when a German artillery shell exploded next to the farmhouse little bridge while two platoons were making their run to the farmhouse. Wow. Nasty. And yet I love this game.

Ya know, just wanted to say, this could have been a screenshot from my first run at this mission too.

I saw an explosion and initially thought it might have been a minefield. Then the whole bridge blew up, taking out a squad running across! I lost more soldiers in that single explosion than in my next three games combined!
