user38
So I decided to read the forum rules and I have to say I take issue with one of them. I got to the rule about Abusive Personalities (hey that's me) and I was shocked at what I read: Abusive Personalities Abusive personalities are only tolerated for as long as it takes to identify patterns of behavior and to assure the Moderators, and the Forum Members in general, that the violator is beyond redemption. This can be a tricky thing to ascertain sometimes because often the basic behavior is normal and acceptable if occasionally displayed. An abusive personality takes advantage of this fact in order to obscure his/her real motivations. When confronted the Member takes a "who me? I'm sweet and innocent" position, which on the surface looks plausible to uniformed Members... Now I am an Austrailan. We don't idolise our military the way Americans seem to. But we don't insult them either. This forum rule seems to indicate that the forum moderators believe military men and women are somehow more gullible than their non military counterparts (not to mention police, fire fighters and bus drivers). I say, shame on you forum moderators: mend your ways.
Pešadija
How so? Military members were not mentioned.
user38
Yea, this is my way of saying the moderators misspelt uninformed.
Elmar Bijlsma
Haha, good one.
Pešadija
Uh, didn't read. Have to kick myself in the nads (somehow) for missing that one. I just got posterized, big time.
Sivodsi
How so? Military members were not mentioned. Heaven forbid that they start mentioning military members.
Stalins Organ
I'm sure there are a few Private Dicks out there somewhere.......
Affentitten
I remember once seeing the dress rules at a club I was entering. One of the rules was "No wearing of t-shirts with objective slogans."
JonS
No objective slogans? What would Ayn Rand make of that? An RSA around here has a sign on the wall that reads "No Swearing Aloud".
Affentitten
I was also puzzled by a safety sign I saw on a tour boat on the Perfume River in Vietnam. It said "No boarding with human body parts, cattle or radioactive materials." I mean, why? There must be a reason they listed those three things to the exclusion of all else.
hoolaman
Maybe they meant body parts, cattle AND radioactive materials. Any one of them is fine, but all three and you are clearly up to something.
abneo3sierra
No objective slogans? What would Ayn Rand make of that? An RSA around here has a sign on the wall that reads "No Swearing Aloud". Saw a church once with a sign "no cursing on Sunday"....thought of a lot of comments about that one...but it pretty much needs none.
